What things happen with this team during the off season, during games, during the playoffs, during press conferences, etc surprise you? It's now second nature it seems when things happen. WHen's the last time you've been caught off guard with this team?? Please share your thoughts and experiences.

Ex. Knowing basically everything Jerry and Stephen will say during an interview, a lot of us can call it quickly, then knowing we have to break down whatever the hell Jerry came up with in his interview. We are so lucky to be fans of this great great franchise!
I agree. It's a mess.

Are we lucky? This team is like the Cardinals used to be. That owner was like Jerry. I watch the Cowboys but don't have any emotions for them anymore. In the 60s I used to be all upset if they lost. Not so much now.

I’m sure it was quite a shock to 95% of the board to see Dak hyperventilating and sweating profusely like little Marco! Who wasn’t shocked to see CD pouting on the field and then having Big Mike having to council him on the bench?! It was a real Shi Show for most of us!

I thought Jerry was going to retain Garrett for at least 20 years. When Jerry didn't renew his contract for 2020 I was a little surprised.
Lol lol lol lol so true, I don't know what the love for him was

Or the people that complain about everything and never give them credit when they do something good like signing the kicker last year.
Wow they signed a kicker. Like Romo and Dak they just lucked into it.

You've heard of Murphy's Law?

"Anything that can go wrong WILL go wrong"

The events that transpire in Cowboyland make Murphy seem optimistic. It should be shocking.

1. Ignoring the RB position over the last three drafts save for one undersized 6th round pick. This is despite the fact that the Cowboys lost their primary RB, whose productivity fell like an anvil being dropped from a 100-story building. They responded with nothing after losing their RB2 who barely got a thousand yards in a 17 game season.

2. A defensive gameplan against the Packers in which everyone knew the Cowboys had trouble against the run as a result of an undersized defense with two LB's, one of them a former safety. Quinn did nothing to compensate for an obvious playoff game response. The Packers threw the ball 21 times and ran all day long.

3. Allowing Lamb's contract issues to continue into training camp while almost every other WR1 in the league were getting their extensions in front of Lamb, constantly increasing his market value.

4. Procrastinating on the decisions regarding Dak's contract and/or future with the team during a four-year period in which they did absolutely nothing to develop a reliable alternative. They drafted one QB in the 7th round, a so-called project that started one game his rookie season.

5. Repeated the same devastating practice of overpaying the wrong players and creating so much dead cap that it seriously effects their ability to create depth and minimize the effect of injuries to their starters.

We are not shocked at these events because we have become acclimated to the incompetence of amateur management when it comes to actual football operations.

Just as it is in every other aspect of life, we create a lot of our own luck in the way we prepare for possible unfortunate events. Potential obstacles should always be taken into consideration when planning.

Considering their recent history, we would think the Cowboys understand this. In fact, the most shocking element of this franchise is repeating the same mistakes over and over while expecting different results. That is not bad luck. That is insanity.
Sadly, everything you said is true.
Well written.
Great real estate developers.
Poor developers of championship-caliber football teams.

Honestly, losing that wildcard game against 7th seed GB the way we did, shocked me. So yes it's still possible.

Lol, nothing in your head that's for sure. Do you even know what the Athletic is?
You are full of it ....... your argument started that people on this board was against Aubrey ....... and then you claimed it was people booing him in camp (which is just stupid and I do not believe you that it happened)

And now you are claiming its an article you cannot link.

Just quit your nonsense.

Only thing that still kinda shocks me is the people who still defend this circus.
Please correct me if I am wrong. But wasn't it PT Barnum that coined the phrase "There's a sucker born every minute"... Welp, here I am just not hooked very well but somehow still on the line.
