the defender never actually clutched at his facemask. had he had a grasp on it then taylor would have been yanked around. the dfender did not cause the twisting it was incidental. Had Taylor not been moving there would have been no twist. sorry if you are too obtuse to grasp the concept.

Had Taylor not been moving? Are you serious? When is a player ever not moving? I think you may want to swing the mirror around if you wanna see obtuse. I mean the officials agree with the way the rule was written, don't they?

and i remember the Campo era when we beat you something in the neighborhood of 13 times in a row. in the end it amounted to nothing. fact is the Commanders were a lousy team last year, have more contention in the lockerroom and with the coaches this year and just about the same amount of talent.

The only hope you have is that Campbell can somehow go from bad to allpro in one offseason and you might have an outside shot at the playoffs if your defense doesnt implode. This is Gibbs last year and after Snyders recent record with coaches like Turner, Shottenheimer and Spurrier noone is going to want to coach for him.

You were the 6th worst team in profootball last year. You will be lucky if you get out of the bottom 10. Whats funny is well still probably pick higher in the draft than you guys. As bad as you guys are the Browns are worse.

Your predictions are nice and all, but are really worth less than the letters used to write it out. Seriously. I'm not gonna sit here and argue till I'm blue in the face. The seasons are played on the field and not in a messageboard and you most certainly can't reason them out no matter how hard you try. How many of you had the Bears in the SB before the season began? I know I didn't.

We can talk about how good or how bad the teams are after some games are played. Right now you might as well be throwing darts at a board filled with sixteen game records.

the action of the defender in and of itself did not cuse the wisting.

the bears have a great defense and offensive line. you guys have a horrid defense and a average offensive line. you lose either samuels or jenkins and youre screwed.

its obvious why you dont want to discuss the merits of your team and only want to blather about winning a game against us last year. it is because your team was bad last year and --because i dont think youre a complete moron-- you know that what has gone on in the offseason has done little to nothing to improve your team especially in the areas where you needed the most help. if anything all the talk about players not going to camp and not wanting to work as hard has you worried about a step back.

So you come over here thinking if you can make us feel lesser that you can feel better. well i have news for you: WE KNOW THE STINKS ARE A BAD TEAM.

If i were you i would be hoping that snyder doesnt take more stupid pills and trade away high draft picks for one year rentals on marginal players. that way you can rebuild.

50.2 completion percentage between them and 5 TD's allowed. Both league bests.

Didn't you also have one of the worst rushing defenses in the league?

Look at the Raiders; they had a good defense sure, but why would teams passon them if the opposition already has scored two to three Td's on you and are winning?

Quarterbacks don't need to pass touchdowns or be accurate when the offense has scored 21 on you and are trying to run out the clock.

Basically your stats are inflated because you are forgetting to mention the rushing numbers opposing teams had on you.

In 04? Our rush defense was ranked like 2nd. 3.1 average for the year and only allowed 7 TD's. Both league best. I'm not sure where you're coming from.

I was talking about this past season; I came to the convo late so if you are talking about '04 then my stats are incorrect.

If there was no facemask grabbing there would be no twisting. Your chicken before the egg argument is worthless. Especially considering the officials saw it just as the rule book lays it out. I don't see any provisions for the ball carrier doing any sort of twisting.

the bears have a great defense and offensive line. you guys have a horrid defense and a average offensive line. you lose either samuels or jenkins and youre screwed.

Our Oline was ranked in the top 5 last year. 19 sacks given up and our backup RB ran for over 1000 yards

Here's what's really going on. Our Dline was bad last year but injuries and sub par personnel in the back 7 had a lot more to do with our failure than the front four did. Our defensive coordinator made a huge misstep with a lot of the decisions and it came back and bit him on the *** in a big way. Gregg Williams is no dummy, though. His record speaks for itself.

There's a reason we didn't pursue DL even though conventional wisdom dictates we should have. Hell, I was on the DL bandwagon as hard as anybody before the draft. The impact plays have always come from our back 7 and our front four only needs to occupy blockers and stay in their lanes.

So you come over here thinking if you can make us feel lesser that you can feel better. well i have news for you: WE KNOW THE STINKS ARE A BAD TEAM.

I came over here to look around and to make a comment that a Snyder hosted SB was inevitable. I didn't start any of the other conversations.

Our marginal players will still be enough to beat your roster of all stars. Bank on that.

So there ya go. Any other questions?

No big deal. I was talking about the Smoot/Springs combo which was together last in 04.

What a garbage article. Not a single quote from Snyder. Not even a "Sure I'd love to have a SB in Washington." Guess there's nothing to talk about unless Portis says something stupid.

btw, are you people still talking about the facemask? (both sides) How about you give it a rest.
Skins fans, it was a 5yd penalty.
Cowboys fans, it was called a 15 yarder because the facemask was intentional. sheesh

Pfffft. As if you wouldn't blow up an inflatable roof for the SB if JJ asked you to.

The stadium was opened to pro football in September of 1997. It hasn't yet even gotten 10 full years. It's attractive use life is easily 30 years.

I highly doubt that the NFL will ever award a Super Bowl to a city whose franchise will depend upon a temporary inflatable roof to shield it's fans from the elements. Who would want a repeat of this happening ...

http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9E04E4D81538F930A35752C0A965948260

... just days prior to a Super Bowl? That's just crazy thinking.

Let's face it. Washington is stuck in Super Bowl limbo land for about two decades until that replace Fedex with a domed stadium. Add another five years or so to correct highway infrastructure to handle the increased traffic flow.

So, Commander fans, get ready! D.C. will probably host Super Bowl LXVI in a few, short generations away. Yay!

Dream on Danny, or get a big tarp to put over your bowl and rig up a bunch of heaters under it. Wouldn't that be classy.

Jack Kent Cooke was originally looking to build a dome stadium in DC back in 1988 to host the Superbowl

Honestly, I hope the NFL never decides to play the Superbowl in Washington DC.

The Superbowl should only be played in sun belt cities with lots of sun, warm temperatures, hot girls and hot parties

It should never be in a place like Detroit or Minnesota or Seattle or whatever nonsense any city north of oh Miami wants. Keep it in the sun belt

That's nice and all, but we've had 2 playoff wins since 99. How many wins have you had? whoops!

Dude, it is called rebuilding.

I know Deadskins are slow, but jeez, this is short-bus slow. I will show pitty on you and attempt to educate your little mind. Please try to keep up.

When a team wins 3 SBs in 4 seasons (A SB is a game that is played to determine the league champion, It has been so long since the Deadskins actually played in one, I can understand your confusion).

As I was saying, after running off a string of multiple championships, your franchise players retire. Since the team was drafting low for multiple years and could not participate in FA due to said franchise players being fairly compensated, a rebuilding era begins.

You still with me little guy.

So in closing, compairing one team that sucks every year with the exception of a playoff appearance every blue moon to a team that is rebuilding after winning multiple championships is just freaking dumb.

Class is now over little guy, if I went to fast for you please stay for next period so you can get schooled again, kinda like the Deadskins each year.:lmao:

So Miami - and that's it.

Maybe they could play in Key West?

Right because going twice in 4 years and losing the first game of each is soooo much better.

You guys slay me.

It is called winning championships, not playoff games.

Jeez, what are you, like 12???
