Now I understand - it's the fans

I dont know about all that but I do see what goes on in this forum with 80% is all negative.. how can you call yourself fans but hate everything about thd team and ownership.. you like to be heard? does it make you feel good to be 100% against your team but call yourself a fan?

Yet when the team gets a single win, the forum goes 80% positive, and many start wondering if the Cowboys could play the rest of the season and only lose once more....as if a single victory solves all their problems from the previous 2 months. "They've turned the corner now, they figured it out, they now could run the table"

So, no, this forum is not 80% negative, it only is after a loss, and it flips after a win.

But yes, no matter what, many here will never like the owner or the coach. I'm easier on JJ than most, as I do think he at least tries to bring in good players when he can within the bounds of the salary cap. Garrett? He'd have to win a Superbowl with this team for me to fully forgive him. And unless things change, the Cowboys will likely have to get there and win in spite of the lackluster game plans, schemes and in-game adjustments.

Im not saying you cant say anything negative but this site sounds like a competitors site,

You think this play is tough, go to the Giants or Jets forums. Hec, Eli won 2 Superbowls and many Giants fans have been trying to run him out of town for years. All football fan bases are hysterical, compounded by all of us having voices now through the internet. It was different 20 years ago when you only connected in large groups like this at bars or at games.

But this can be solved, you can simply stop participating in this forum, and instead go to bars and games to surround yourself around local fans (though some of them at those places will have outlandish positions about certain players or coaches).

it has so much hate and disdain for your own team.. some of us come here to feel part of the DC community and discus the team, that includes support and pride..

You can discuss the team here and discuss how proud you are, just be ready for dissenting opinions. :p

I dont see much of that here.. Fan is short for Fanatic, its supposed to be support for your team when you say, im a FAN..its ugly in here most days and get quite old..

so yes those fans make me sad...:thumbdown:

So don't come here after losses, only pop in after wins. Then you'll read a lot of Cowboys pride and fanaticism, projections about running the table, how great Dak, or how great Zeke and Coop are, how the o-line is top 5, how D Law is dominant, etc. You'll get what you need, after a win. :D

This is the stupidest thread I've seen in my time on this forum. The OP should be banned, given some crayons and a coloring book, then escorted to the nearest safe space.

Yes, after 23 years of never advancing past the divisional round - for a team that won 5, and went to 8, of the first 30 Super Bowls - it is the complaining of the fans that is the problem. Smmfh.

good points but this feels like a place like NY in the Ghostbusters movie where hate and negativity was going to destroy the earth.. its oozing n with mostly overly critical fans and hate..even after wins they pick it apart..

Fans like me have to be compelled to come in and try to balanced the hate and be the voice of reason..

Everyone has their favorite players (and coaches), so they'll defend them, after losses and wins alike. And they'll deride other players sometimes in their favorite's defense. To be expected.

But it's been over 20+ years since this team has appeared in a Superbowl, so expect the natives to be restless. Patience has run thin, BB70, so anticipate a lot of frustration from week to week, even when the Cowboys win, but can't dominate a less-talented team like the Giants, Fins or Skins. Or when they lose to a team with their #1 QB out (Brees). Or lose to the Vikings when they have multiple star players out. The frustration just builds and builds. None of us are getting any younger. LOL

And as the season tracks towards 8 - 8, it's only going to get worse. So plan to pop in here less and less, because you KNOW what you're going to see. And it won't be easy on the eyes for those few remaining "hopeful" fans.

Why people say they don’t like the Cowboys because of the fans. Many of y’all complain so much about the owner/gm, front office, HC, coaching staff , RB, QB, DBs etc. it’s childish, ignorant, idiotic, and any other derogatory word that can be used. Y’all are the ones that when we do win , are so obnoxious, arrogant idiots , that makes people want to see us lose, or have chaotic stuff going on. They don’t dislike the players are the team rather they dislike the fans

Grouping everyone into one large bucket is a sign of deep, deep immaturity.

Awesome. Another thread complaining about fans, calling them childish, ignorant, idiotic, and any other derogatory word that can be used. Good to know your complaining isn't somehow childish, ignorant, idiotic, and any other derogatory word that can be used. Bravo.

They hate the Cowboys and its fans because many Cowboys fans walk around acting and talking like we are the Patriots. We are the best franchise in the NFL. That everyone should bow to our greatness. That's why we get such hatred. Because we are a smug fanbase that acts like we are special when in fact, we haven't done crap in over 20 years. We act like we are the dominant franchise when in fact, we are a hell of a lot closer to the Browns and Commanders and Lions over the last two decades than the Patriots or Steelers.
Yep! Still leaning on those 5 rings decades ago.

I agree Lol. But it’s true, I have had so many people say that is why they dislike the Cowboys, I am willing to bet you have heard the same thing
I heard that Steven A Smith hates Cowboy fans, because his first love dumped him, and she was a Cowboy fan. So, if so, there's at least one exception to your narrative.

But we are still better than philly fans, NY (any team) fans and NE fans. At the end of the day, I simply care not...

I understand your take on this, and we can get a bit tedious. I usually try to stay positive as much as I can, speaking for myself. However, if I see a change needs to be made, I will voice that sentiment such as wanting Jason Garrett to get sacked. I think he's been here far too long to still be committing the blunders like he did against Minnesota. Also, I don't appreciate him throwing people under the bus on a regular basis. Very unbecoming of a coach. Hopefully, you can understand where I'm coming from with this. In essence, I see Garrett as what is holding.us back. Especially with the roster we have.

If we didn't have a stacked roster, I wouldn't be so annoyed by Garrett. However, with the roster we have, I did expect much better, and it sounds as though Jerry agrees.
And we all thought Garrett was here because of his amazing ability to bring a locker room together, to build chemistry, all the unrecognized, unappreciated coaching skills that always go unnoticed, but Garrett brought those qualities.

Those qualities would supersede actual game time coaching values..

OK, ya right.

But you need to judge a team based on their entire history, imho, for instance the Steelers are well respected. but they went 40 years before they won a championship, you can't just take the last 40 and ignore the first 40. If you take their total titles and divide that into all their years in the league, then Dallas is the better team overall, having won only one less championship in little more than half the years. Saints were the laughing stock of the league for the vast majority of their existance, their first title took 42 years and they still have only 1 in 51 years, again vs. the Cowboys 5 in 58 years.

I consider myself a total Cowboys history fan, though I didn't start to watch them until after the first 8 years, so in that regard I feel I can brag on the Cowboys, even though the last 22 years it's not been all that great, as far as titles go....
