Now I'm happy!

Some are saying you wouldn't trade for Hendrickson but some thought that was bigger need that IDL,

Would you have given up what the Cowboys gave up for Q.Williams would you have rather had Hendrickson? It might have taken less just like a 1 and they could have thrown Sam Williams , in Would you rather have Hendrickson for that ,or Q.Williams for what the Cowboys gave up for him? So you could have probably got Hendrickson for less Which would you have chosen if that was the choice I mean they had to give up a lot more for Williams and I haven't been paying attention to Williams career but man a 1 and a 2 and Mazi...hmm

I mean somebody all say Hendrickson's long in the tooth and older but in my opinion, I think we're going to be fine on edge they looked a lot better last night they've been looking better they've gotten a lot more pressures we can get one of those in the draft was it better they addressed linebacker and interior D line?

I'm not sure who the odd man out is or are they going to keep Osa, Clark ,and Williams maybe restructure Osa and Clark make it fit better is that what this Team has finally got something in the middle?

Let's not forget we have Overshown. Honestly, this clogs up the middle of our dline nicely and gives us a fighting chance of having a defence that may not be recognisable in 2026 compared to how we started this year.

Jerry got him to fall for it again.

Last I checked, I don't have to be miserable about the team 24/7. I know we're not going anywhere this year. However, if this can make our defence formidable in 2026, then we have a chance at building something special for next season. I see this as a win for the future.

Q is a stud and is sorely needed on the DLine. Dallas doesn’t have to address the position in the draft now. But, be cautious……the Jets defense sucked with Williams and Sauce. This trade has to be accompanied by a legit MLB and a Safety. Get those other two positions and the defense is half-fixed.

Williams alone isn’t going to make this defense better, there needs to be a plan going forward. Did Jerry finally see the light? Time will tell…..

Well, let's be honest, the Jets suck mainly because their offense is useless. Q on our defence? My word!!! And what's to say we don't draft a top pass rusher and linebacker in the first round anyway?

Well, now I'm happy!!! I love the trades today!!! Oh my goodness!!!! I can't believe we got Williams!!! And the value was actually good!!! I'm super stoked by this move!!!! Wooooooooooooooooow!!!! And we got a bit more LB depth!! I am still in shock as I write this thread!!!

Clark, Eze, Williams, and Clowney (and/or probably a rookie in 2026), that is a LETHAL front 4!!!! I love this!!!!!! And I love that we got Wilson!!!! Seriously!! After last night, I couldn't be happier with this move. I know we might not make it work this year, but next year? If our offense can get back to basics as opposed to having to worry about our defence too? We might have something brewing!!!! Let's goooooooooooooooooooo!!! *Neighs excitedly*
You must be very young. I remember feeling like this . . . 30 YEARS AGO . . .

exactly right. About half the fan base has forgotten about last night's disaster and they are right back on the Jerry Express. He's getting nibbles all over the place. It's really amazing the power he has over a good chunk of Cowboys fans.

I'm fully aware of the disaster yesterday. But my happiness with this trade and the Wilson trade is more because we have a chance to build a much better defence now. And, we can have a team well built for the future. Think of it this way, when it comes time for us to find Dak's successor, would you rather give the new QB a better defence and a solid offense? Or would you rather give them nothing to work with on defence? With what we have, we have a chance at something special longer term now compared to last night.

I am too

I dont ask for wins or anything

I ask for effort, both on the field and transaction wise

I like this

Exactly, I'm not expecting a playoff run this year regardless. But, we have built ourselves an option for the future. Especially if we get a better DC.

After the bye we should have Revel CB, Overshown LB and Butler CB back and hopefully starting along with Wilson LB and Williams DT. That should make the D much better. Will it be enough to make a run? Maybe but a lot of other things need to happen also.

Overshown and Williams along with Wilson should help with run stopping along with generating more pressure on the QB. Getting a Safety would definitely help.

It does set up well for next year if we can get a Safety in free agency.

Depending on where we draft in the 1st, we could alot of ways even possibly trade down with one of the picks to acquire a 2nd and 3rd. At least thing are looking up.

I'd love a trade down, and there's nothing stopping us from making this defence even more deadly in the draft and FA. This changes the dynamic of what this team can do in 2026.

"We'll get 'em next year."

Thia has been the Dallas Cowboys fans mantra every year for 30 years now. And every year certain fans expect a different outcome but the end result is always the same.

no prob rusty. I never tell others how to be a fan and I expect the same courtesy in return. My problem is that Jerry has never had a vision...like a 3 year plan. Its always fill a hole here, patch this up etc. It's never..lets rebuild this from the ground up, have a couple of 3 win years but be focused on 3-4 years from now. Patching holes has no staying power. While you upgrade at one spot, somewhere else is slipping.

Oh of course, and I get where you're coming from. I agree that he never really has a vision. I'm just hopeful that maybe this is the start of building a team that is as Jerry-proof as possible lol.

Am I supposed to be miserable about the Cowboys 24/7? And this actually gives us a chance to have an elite defence next year. Hard to deny that a dline of Eze, Williams, Clark, and Clowney/a fully healthy Overshown/high draft pick pass rusher is a MUCH better dline than we had before.
You got em, Jerry.

Not just for this year, but hope for next year too.

You sly dog.

He's got him for life. 50 years from now, I've never seen dallas ever win anything, but hey, I like watching the same show year after year. :D

Look, I know we're not going anywhere this year. However, if Jerry plays his cards right, we can get this defence very good and, in 2027, maybe get the QB of the future (albeit, likely to start by sitting under Dak until he's ready). It lines up perfectly. Dak's contract is up I think after the 2027 season. Right now, he's been one of the better QBs (outside the last two games). Now that the offense likely doesn't have to compensate as much for the defence, maybe it gives the offense, in the meantime, more breathing room between this year and next year. Then, when the time is right, we have likely set up the QB of the future (maybe the A&M QB?) a chance to have a team with all the ability in the world to succeed.

They are going to waste next year's D with the same DC and use his failure with the player acquisitions as the reason to let him go. More wasted years coming. The book of Jerry is in large print and easy to read.
