Neither player made a difference or elevated their previous defenses so what makes you think it's going to work here in Jerry's circus?
No, it wasn't. This was done because Jerry is in a panic. Williams isn't a needle mover and will be a two year rental. This team isn't winning Jack over the next two years.

Dallas has been trying to get Williams since they started shopping Parsons. It didn't happen until the Jets went into fire sale mode. DT has been an issue here forever and unlike Kenny Clark, Williams is a longer term solution.
i respect your opinion Ray. But I feel first and foremost these trades were done for Jerry to try to reel back in the fans that are willing to nibble at the bait. Lots of games left this year, he needs to get some fans back on board. And he did it. What happens in 2026 or 2027 is gravy. Jerry needed to hook a bunch of fans now, for this year.

I don’t understand the Jets getting the better 2026 first round picks. Sounds NBA like to me. I have never seen an NFL trade like that. The GB pick should have been enough imo.
