Only wimpy kids? I played sand lot or street football as well and your right you get bumps and bruises. Putting pads on is not great protection guys are hitting at full speed and guys learn quickly how to use pads as a weapon. I suffered a lot more serious injuries in organized football than I have had playing out in the streets.

Sorry to hear that. I didn't. Fractured skull, broken wrist, sprained knee ligaments, and yes I even lost a handful of hair to somebody :p:, all playing unorganized sports with no pads. When we played football, we played.

Two years of organized football (I stopped growing up and started growing out, those were some big boys!), starter my second year at safety and not a singly injury worth reporting.

Anyway, that was meant as a joke. Sorry if it was taken any other way.

well let me tell you guys a story about last world cup. the us beat mexico in the playoffs (second round). i live on the border and cross back and forth every day it seems. well, that day, even the guys at customs were all giddy that they beat mexico and couldn't stop gloating. so people do care as to what USA does at the world cup. some of you might choose to ignore soccer but don't for one minute think that the rest of america will not be watching. we live in a world of instant gratification and some of you find it boring to sit through two hours of a 2-1 match. go to any bar in europe or latin america and see a game and it will change your perspective. and one last thing, dont count out the americans just yet. bruce arena had a very talented team and landon donovan is as good a anybody in the world and should be playing in europe where he would be appreciated accordingly.
