Bill Ford Jr.: I'd fire Millen if I ran the Lions

Detroit Lions vice chairman Bill Ford Jr., at a Detroit Economic Club event Monday, had this to say in response to a reporter’s question about the Lions game on Sunday:
“It was an embarrassment, the fans deserve better, and if I had the authority, I would have fired the general manager,” Matt Millen, Ford said.
When asked again a few minutes later if he would fire Millen, he said, “Yes, but I don’t have that authority.”
The Lions are 0-3. Their latest loss was a 31-13 defeat at San Francisco.

And he made the right decision to hang up the phone at that point. Ware >>>> any WR

Newsflash: Roy Williams is a me-first, prima donna receiver who has never positively impacted his team at either the college or pro level. Look beyond some misleading personal stats and know that I speak truth. He's just not an impact player some make him out to be.

As soon as the lions drop that game next week If I were Jerry I'd be on the horn dangling a 1st round pick to Detroit. If the Lions balk I would increase the offer to a 1st and a 5th, no more. Landing Williams would really set us up for the latter part of the season and the playoffs. He's pretty familiar with our offense too having played under Martz in Detroit which used a version of the air coryell/ turner stuff. Think were running the ball well now? Add Williams to the mix and that field will open up like Moses parting the red sea........... This would be a huge move Imo that would pay big dividends in every way imaginable for our offense.

I can see his stats line at the end of the season-- 60 carries, 1075 yards, 15 TDs... works for me...
