The Jones idiots were cheap even when Dak was on his rookie deal.
The Jones idiots have been cheap with outside free agents for YEARS.
The Jones idiots are cheap EVEN WITH COACHES, and there is no salary cap for coach contracts.
They paid Dak. Big whoop. They waited until the start of the season to pay him, BY DESIGN, so that they wouldn't have to spend another dime last offseason aside from CeeDee's deal.
They're a cheap and useless ownership group. Fans who blamed Dak or Dak's contract were essentially letting the Jones idiots off the hook for their lack of FA signings. Don't do that.
Many other teams paid their QB $50M+, and none of them were even close to as cheap as the Cowboys with outside free agents.
Jalen Hurts signed for $51M/year. The Eagles are ALSO paying AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert and *drumroll please* Saquon Barkley. They also have maybe the best OL and best defense in the NFL.
But Dak and CeeDee are supposed to win big, all on their own, because they're the "highest paid" at their positions? Bull****.
SELL THE TEAM!!!!!!!!
Dak over Dallas fans can't exist in a world where both Jerry and Dak suck.Just because everything about this team sucks hard doesn't mean dak and his contract....doesn't.
I know Jerry loves him some Dak and will do anything to make Dak happy.Wow, Dak yields such power. I mean Jerry must be the stupidest person ever.
Come on people....stop the madness
Yeah, my post is totally "glazing the team," you smart guy, you.
Especially the part where I angrily tell the owners to sell the team!
Its been proven the Jerry would and has done nothing with any cap savings, just like he did when Dak made <$1M/yr. So a comparison how much they're making is irrelevant.Hurts Cap hits for 2025 through 2028: $21.8M, $31.8M, $41.8M and $47.2M
Prescott Cap hits for the same four years: $89.9M, $67.7M, 61.7M, and $71.7M
The entire team was set up by management to fail this season by our lack of interest in using free agency for even mid tier players, much less high tier.
And they have already hinted they will do it again this upcoming season.
He has to do something with savings, there is a minimum cap spend teams have to hit.Its been proven the Jerry would and has done nothing with any cap savings, just like he did when Dak made <$1M/yr. So a comparison how much they're making is irrelevant.
Jerry sucking means the team sucks. So comparing anyone to Jerry, who's sucked at his job for 30 years is silly. Thats the point of this thread.Dak nut huggers always do crazy mental gymnastics. Blaming JJ because Dak sucks is ridiculous.
Dak sucks all on his own.
Jerry sucks all on his own.
The team sucks as a whole.
They all can be true without the other.
Were Jerry/Stephen any better when Dak was on his cheap rookie deal?I don’t understand why just because Jerry is cheap means daks contract isn’t an issue. If anything if you as an owner are not willing to spend on top of these mega contracts it just makes the mega contract that much worse. It was irresponsible to extend Dak only to not address other issues. Both Dak and Jerry can be negatives for the cowboys, not sure why it’s supposed to be one or the other.
Same here. Agree.Shottengeimer is Dak’s pick, so what excuses are Dak fans going to use when he falls flat on his face again?
They are eventually going to run out of excuses.
I am actually a little interested in next season.
I’m not expecting success but I am interested in how bad they actually will be.
Solid list. With your permission, I'd suggest adding:This team is hampered with bad decisions across the board.
1. Resigning Dak
2. Poor contracts / dead money carry over
3. Refuse to trade players
4. Refuse to sign notable free agents.
5. Poor ownership.
We’ll saidAre you serious right now? Like for real, are you serious? Go read my posts from the last 10 years. I have never blamed anyone but Jerry for this team. In fact go read the post you quoted me in. Did you read the part where I said in plain English, “Dak took advantage of Jerry’s unwillingness to be uncomfortable “. That’s blaming Jerry.
Now is not the time. Dak is waist deep in the dysfunction of the team. And I’m not talking about his horrible playoff performances, I’m talking about Dak staying in his lane. Let’s start a year ago when Dak publicly endorsed McCarthy when his job status came up. I believe he said “if you you want yo get rid of McCarthy then get rid of me too”. So we kept Mike for ‘24 and him and Dak sucked in the time Dak was playing. Now we just hired Schotty who Dak again publicly endorsed and the reports are this was a hire for continuity for Dak. We want to keep the continuity for Dak. Dak, a 2-6 playoff QB, 31 years and injury prone, and has arguably the worst contract in NFL history. Dak is Deshaun Watson but without the off the field issues. Dak and Deshaun and I’d add Cousins to that mix are very average, expensive and injury prone QBs.
Let me be clear about this. Jerry Jones is the worst owner of any NFL team in the current NFL. He’s a great businessman but a bad sports owner who can’t go out of his comfort zone. Jerry is the worst GM in sports because of his insecurities and how he devalues the HC position because he still lives with the trauma of Jimmy Johnson getting credit.
With that being said Dak needs to shut his mouth and stay in his lane and play football. The last 2 coaches he advocated for is McCarthy and Schotty. McCarthy is currently unemployed and Schotty is a “career assistant coach” as announced by the idiot that hired him.
This is not the time to defend Dak. But if you are going to defend him please explain to me why Dak can’t learn a new offense. Don’t waste your time insulting me or talking about stats and comparisons and blah blah blah. If you answer this skip the normal talking points that Dak supporters blindly cling to and answer the simple question that is effecting our franchise in this moment, right now, today.
Why can’t Dak learn a new offense?
