This scare with Newman and the continuing concerns with Henry and Glenn underline the priority for the Boys: we need at least ONE more top CB.
King from Penn State, a JR, appears to be the best CB in college right now.
Right now he is considered a possible top 10 pick- if he has as good a season as many think he will have, he will be a top 5 pick.
We have to be realistic: Henry is over 30 and has been injured some both of his seasons. Glenn is truly Methuselah; sooner or later he has to start losing it. And so far none of our other CBs show much beyond being MAYBE a #3.
Now there is no arguement that our WRs are also old- BUT at the same time the bust factor for WRs early in the first is VERY high. You are better off going CB or RB that high in the first. When you look at what we NEED now and WILL NEED soon, CB pretty much takes the prize- as long as another Calvin does not show up in the WR ranks and from all that I have read there ain't going to be any like that next draft. And King appears to be at this time head and shoulders above any other CB. He has all the physical tools and appears to be a great kid as well. So to me its becoming a no brainer: use the cleveland pick and get a top CB!!!

I like the kid from Arizona. I forget his name, but he's a stud.

CB, RB, WR ... all ok by me. As long as we don't take another LB with our top pick.

I think it's clear that CB will be a high priority in next season's draft.

Given how much a top CB costs in FA, I think we'll go the draft route rather than FA route.

I think our top needs for next season include, CB, NT (let's not forget that Fergy is getting up there in age either), WR, and possibly RB (if JJ isn't re-signed).

If we can get one of the four possible needs in FA, I think we can do the rest via the Draft.

Which ever is the best out of CB or WR when our pick is up, that's who we go with.

I have this hunch the Boys will look long and hard at Quentin Jammer in free agency... Wade knows him...

While that may not be popular decision around here on draft day, it may be the best one. You raise some excellent points and I won't cry if we can draft another TNew type with Cleveland's top 5 or 6 pick.

Dallas has 2 1st rd picks so CB can be addressed if need be. I would still go with the premier RB if McFadden is there and at this stage and would also add we have 2 young CB that brought in this year and before writing them off because they were not some 1st day pick let’s see how they do.

If a RB is the BPA then I'm all for it but I don't get the outcry for that position. I'm looking for JJ and MBIII to have monstrous years collectively. CB should be a top priority. It's the area that concerns me the most. I have very little confidence in Glenn holding down the outside in the nickel let alone as a starter.

A stud CB is a serious thought. We are a Newman injury away from Dire Straits. Darelle Revis was the gem of last years draft but went ahead of us unfortunately. Read he's already running first team for Jets.

I really only want one if he is top 10 potential. The number like that that bust at CB is VERY small. Probably less there then any other position.

Jammer is good, nothing more. He probably is about the only top 10 CB bust I can think of. And yes I call him a bust since he has never been more then good, and from where he was picked he SHOULD have been a lot better.

And here is the basis of the issue. Cause someone thought we needed 1,000 LBs, we do have needs elsewhere. We will have to spend money in free agency to fill some of these needs, no way around that.

Don't know who will be available, but I could see us signing at least either a CB or NT in free agency, or both. We just can't fill all our needs in the draft this year, so a free agent will be needed for some positions.

To get a top CB, you are going to spend out the yang in FA. Much better to get one in the draft.

Antione Cason
I think Cason will be a better Pro CB than Chris McAllister from the same program. He is a legit top 10 prospect IMO. He's played in 34 career games, has 182 tackles, 18 passes broken up, and 10 interceptions. Teams throw away from him and at Wilrey Fontenot because Cason will make them pay.

If McFadden is gone Cason becomes one of the players I target with the Browns pick. If we get DMac, then WR and CB need to be our next two picks. Age, health, and time to develop seem to be dictating that to us.
