hahaha I can't wait for the game against the Giants.

Can this possibly get any easier for the Giants and Eli Manning?

Perhaps only if Kirk Cousins is injured and Hall of Famer Sonny Jurgensen comes out of retirement to play quarterback for Washington. He recently celebrated his 82nd birthday — but can still spin it.

The Cowboys lost Tony Romo for about two months, and on Saturday, eight days before the start of the season, the Eagles, now in a complete rebuild, traded starting quarterback Sam Bradford to the desperate Vikings, who are still in shock after losing Teddy Bridgewater for the season after a devastating non-contact knee injury in practice last week.

So, the season opens next week with the Giants in Dallas facing rookie fourth-round pick Dak Prescott, a summertime superstar against vanilla defenses. Mark Sanchez, after losing out in Denver to QBs who have never thrown a regular season pass — Trevor Siemian, who played one snap as a rookie (a kneel down), and rookie Paxton Lynch — was cut Saturday by the Super Bowl champs and expected to sign with the Cowboys as a backup.

Wait what?
When did the Giants become a contender?

The news isn't that they thing the Commanders are their onl contender...it's that they assume they are a contender.

It's a Gary Myers column, what can I say.
Gnats were 6-10 last year. No major injuries like Eli being out.
And they had a horrible defense, for all the criticism of our defense, I believe we had the best defense in the division last season.

It's reasonable to assume you won't contend with a rookie QB.
It's also reasonable to assume that after 3 straight losing seasons and a rookie coach that you won't content.
Our rookie QB is temporary.

It's funny how the title says now that the Eagles traded Sam Bradford....the Eagles traded Sam Bradford because they were never going to contend even with him.

You're far more likely to have initial success with a rookie head coach than QB.

Sometimes we have to look at things intelligently. Rookie QBs generally struggle big time in the NFL.

yes! always a good sign when the ny writers instead of promoting Dallas they are shrugging them off as garbage!

Finally, the underdog role.

Hang it in the locker room.
That is what I was thinking. Bulletin board material.

People seem to forget that Bradford sucks. And the Eagles were ruined by the genius of GM Chip Kelly.

One thing I found hysterical though was on NFL.com talking about the trade Connor Orr said,"Bradford threw for 3,725 yards, 19 touchdowns and 14 interceptions a year ago in Chip Kelly's clunky offense." So wait, Kelly was an offensive genius who would re-define the concept of the NFL offense, and now his offense is 'clunky??' I guess it would have to be to have held back such a luminary of the position as Sam Bradford.

Generally rookie QB's who are starting are also doing so for teams who lack talent around the rookie QB.
He doesn't have to play like rookie Dan Marino to be effective enough to allow us to "contend" with a team who has been awful for 3 straight seasons.
