The article only mentions Prescott once and that is to dismiss him. Typical NYP puff piece from the rag.

Yep. And I get it. He may struggle. And I think people look at Dak as if he's in the same league as the QB's we had last year. And you know what? He may be. But he's not nearly as one dimensional and Dez seems to be healthy. And he also had a training camp with us unlike Cassel.

He does have a better supporting cast on offense than most rookie QBs but he also has a dreadful defense. Probably worse than most rookies. So it's a wash, IMO. You're only objecting to this because it's the Cowboys.

We keep saying the defense is dreadful but do we realy know they will be dreadful? How much worse will we be compared to last year? We ranked 17th last year. If that offense starts clicking, it will realy help our defense.

He is way better than what we had last year and has a very healthy offense around him he can rely on. Last year we had jokes at backup.

I'm not going to say that. IT may be true but i'm not going to say he's better than a guy in Cassel who has quarterbacked some winning football teams including in New England. I'm not going to put that on a rookie until he shows it. But as of now we've seen nothing to suggest that. He may be better than Weeden but i'm not sure exactly what that means.

What I take from the article is he expects the division to be easily won by the Giants. He thinks it should be a cakewalk which is idiotic considering how poor they the Giants OL is and how they have looked since OTAs. It would be one thing if Eli and the offense was clicking but they are not. The fact is they have looked really bad against vanilla defenses. Will their $200M investment in the defense stop the Cowboys offense? Much of their spending was to stop Dallas. Can they? We will see. Should it be easy for them to outscore Dallas minus Romo? We will see.

hahaha I can't wait for the game against the Giants.

Can this possibly get any easier for the Giants and Eli Manning?

Perhaps only if Kirk Cousins is injured and Hall of Famer Sonny Jurgensen comes out of retirement to play quarterback for Washington. He recently celebrated his 82nd birthday — but can still spin it.

The Cowboys lost Tony Romo for about two months, and on Saturday, eight days before the start of the season, the Eagles, now in a complete rebuild, traded starting quarterback Sam Bradford to the desperate Vikings, who are still in shock after losing Teddy Bridgewater for the season after a devastating non-contact knee injury in practice last week.

So, the season opens next week with the Giants in Dallas facing rookie fourth-round pick Dak Prescott, a summertime superstar against vanilla defenses. Mark Sanchez, after losing out in Denver to QBs who have never thrown a regular season pass — Trevor Siemian, who played one snap as a rookie (a kneel down), and rookie Paxton Lynch — was cut Saturday by the Super Bowl champs and expected to sign with the Cowboys as a backup.

The Giants o line is bad enough to take away most of the advantage Eli brings to the table and brings very little as a run threat. While our O line enhances our run and pass game. After establishing the run use a bootleg, play action game plan with Dak. Get him outside putting rediculus pressure on the corners to leave coverage and come up to stop him.
With Romo out the whole team will show up focused. I think we take this one.

I think the writer was heaping pressure on the Giants and letting them know they have zero excuses this season. Anyway, if I was forced to choose between the two I would be taking the Deadskins in a heartbeat. The vanilla defenses that Dak tore apart also shut down that much hyped, much anticipated Giants offense, Eli, ODB, Cruz and all. Oh, and newsflash, that 200 million d-line will not make up for that bad O-line. You don't go from historically bad to great in one offseason no matter how much money you throw at it.

If we finish last, Garrett must be fired. We have a much better roster than the Eagles. We are equipped with an outstanding offense, Romoless or not. And he had a season long dress rehearsal for this exact scenario just last year. If you cannot lead your team through adversity, then you are of no use.
Dallas went through a very similiar situation last season and managed just four wins. Last season was a good indication of what life is like without Romo. They are facing the same situation again this year and I hope for a few more wins , but it is possible that the results are similiar to last season. I agree that a coaching change should happen if they can win more games than last season, but it is entirely possible to suffer through another bad year. There is little reason to think otherwise at this point.

Guess who takes your team seriously when you best years are 8-8? No one and rightly so.

The Giants did do some pretty good upgrading on the defensive side.
Not sure it's enough to get them an NFC East title though

It's funny that some would say that we are not the kind of team that a rookie QB would start on. We were 4-12 last year, and 1-11 without the guy who the rookie is going to be replacing. We are pretty much exactly the kind of team a rookie QB starts on.

Might as well start some draft threads if the NY Daily News is printing that.

And I was told our pre-season wasn't a disaster. lol

i woudnt say disaster, but ill defintely say "not desired. We ll see. The rest is up to the coaches. They dont have to deal with anything other coaches dont have to deal with. Can they keep the ship afloat or do like last year and save it by putting more holes into it thinking it will make things better. We have to see. Offseason was good, i had no complaints with that or the draft.
