Hardy was not released. His contract was up. Did we release Durant? Carter? Murray? No. Their contract was up and we chose to not re-sign them for whatever reasons. The Panthers wanted him back, as we wanted Murray back, but chose to let him test the market and get his off the field issues cleaned up.

Murray was as RKG as they get and we let him walk over money

You questioned his character. I don't know him and you don't know him. But I provided two examples from people that do. You choose to ignore them to validate your viewpoint.

I don't think he has "character". People who get in trouble and accused of the things he is accused of, tend not to have "character". I do think he is a good team mate and a hard worker at practice and in game. His former team mates all attest to that.

There is more than one kind of "character". Hardy certainly has one type. Hopefully, he learned his lesson and will develop the others.

I'm not making a judgement either way. I don't care. I don't idolize these guys or expect anything from them off the field. Hardy can help this team immensely and that is why I want to sign him. Having the charges dropped helps him get back on the field.

I will when he has some teammates and coaches. If he was such a RKG then why was he given a franchise tag to play in 2014 and then released? Oh. you must not have ready anything about that because "From everything you've read..."

Yes his contract was up but he was franchise tagged for the 2014 season so you know at that point they wanted to keep him. After his DV conviction the Panthers no longer wanted him... even after his conviction was overturned, otherwise they could have tagged him again. They let him walk.

Yes. Because his contract was up. Any team could franchise anyone, sometimes they choose not to do so. That is the case here.

I think too many of you fall in love with names. I mean come on, you're acting like Greg Hardy is JJ Watt or something. Yes, he's a fantastic player, but he's not some All-World generational talent; he's a good DE.

I also think some of you want the Cowboys to sign anyone with a name you've heard before and a smudge of talent. (see Paea, Sheard, etc)

Obviously the Cowboys don't feel that many of these Free Agents are better than what we already have on the roster.

I think that many of you want the Cowboys to make lateral moves just because you like to see new names on the roster.

The player you sign in Free Agency needs to be markedly better than what we have on the roster, and most of them just aren't. Otherwise, it's truly not worth it. It's not an upgrade, it's a sidegrade. Just swapping names.

Trust in the Cowboys being smart in Free Agency and building this team through the draft.

There is no one player, signed or not, that will put this team in the Super Bowl.

Funny since we only have 3-4 guys on our defense who could make the 53 of several teams. Our guys make Hardy look like Watt.

I did not know Hitler either so I guess by your point I can't question his character either. People that knew Hitler would vouch for him too. So does that validate your viewpoint? No, it means your point is moot.

I don't need to know him to question his character. I can read the newspaper just as good as the next guy. He's a woman beater and beat the system with his money. Good on the Cowboys for not pursuing him.

Why do you keep saying his contract was up? We are not in disagreement on this. He could have been given the franchise tag if they wanted to keep him but they chose to let him walk. There is a reason they did not tag him... they did not want him.

Remains to be seen. I think his NFL days are over.

I keep saying his contract was up because there is a difference between releasing a player and choosing not to re-sign him. Murray's contract was up, did we not want him? I think we did but there were other factors involved. Same with Hardy.

And you base that on what? Rumors are that the Chargers are about to sign him. I hope it isn't true because I still want the Cowboys to pick him up, but I am willing to bet that he will be signed by another team. He may have a suspension to serve but he will play again.

We already franchise tagged Dez so we could not tag Murray, otherwise we would have tagged him because, yes we wanted him. Panther's did not tag anyone for the 2015 season. They did not want Hardy.
