I just don't think interviewing the two candidates has anything to do with the Rooney Rule. I do agree he's not looking for an experienced/season OC.
LOL. Ok.

I agree. Because when I'm looking for someone to replace the OC of the 2nd best offense in the league the last 4 years, at the very top of my list is a 36 year old TE Coach.

You can pretend. I won't.

To suggest that these two candidates are the leading candidates is a stretch. They’re two minority candidates that probably were interviewed to suffice the Rooney rule. Chances are some clown inside the building will get the job. IE Brian Schottenheimer or somebody else
The Rooney rule doesn’t apply to assistants

Nice write up. I wouldn’t say they are the leading candidates although I guess they are since they are the only 2 we’ve heard about but I think there’s more to come

I don't know what's crazy about it. The Owner is on record that the offense will be McCarthy's west coast scheme next year. His Green Bay offense and McCarthy will call the plays. So any OC hire will be in name only since they won't be able to run or call their own offense.

That and the Rooney Rule would explain these two candidates being so weak.

Technically it said Mike will call the plays. The offense will be elements of what he used to run, what we’ve run with kellen and sprinkled in with the new gameplan with the new coach.

So while an oc wont call the plays they can still plan the game plan, plan schemes, add new stuff and then Mike will just call plays

I look at it this way, as long as the coach you are looking at didn't come from the Browns we're good.

Cool story. Keep me posted on where you go with that fiction.

Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones confirmed Wednesday that Mike McCarthy will be the franchise's first head coach to call plays since Jason Garrett in 2012, and that McCarthy will run a version of the West Coast offense he used from 2006 to 2018 with the Green Bay Packers.

"This is the logical step to build on it and use what we've established, if you will, the foundation of the things we've got," Jones said to reporters at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. "This is the time for us to build on it. That's what this is, a building step."

"It will be, in principle, the way he operated in Green Bay, which I'm sure he'll tell you evolved," Jones said.

Lol….that’s exactly what I just said. Maybe less quick trigger finger on the reply button mr 100,000 posts and more reading comprehension.

What they’ve used will be the principle and then they’ll add on top of it with Mike’s west coast offensive systems he used to run as a foundation. That’s actually what I said. The new coordinator can then add some schemes to that as well and then from there McCarthy will call the game hence why he’s the PLAYCALLER……he calls plays from the options they have.

The options they have will be based off the west coast offense, what worked for kellen and what the new coordinator develops which Mike will then use at his own discretion come game day.

You tried.

No it's not at all like you said. You pretended the offense would be a hybrid of McCarthy's and the new coordinator. It's not. You made it up and hoped I'd buy it.

No I didn’t. I said “ The offense will be elements of what he used to run, what we’ve run with kellen and sprinkled in with the new gameplan with the new coach.”

That’s literally the quote. Which means exactly the same as what you thought you had me with your little “gotcha “story. Mike will run his west offense and implement what worked with kellen (hence Jerry’s “what we’ve built” comment) and then the new coordinator will add new wrinkles and formulate a gameplan.

Mike will Then on game day CALL PLAYS using the playbook.

1. You only need to interview one minority candidate for coordinator positions.

2. Is it so hard for you to believe that guys who are not well regarded as coaches? Each has an assistant HC title. Those often are given when someone is fielding offers from other teams and you want to keep them.

Didn't realize the Rooney Rule was expanded that two external minority coaches must interview for the HC position.
No correlation between that and this search, but didn't realize that.

Also, the team has to interview one minority coach for the QB coach as well.
