Odd choice of words in Garrett's criticism of Carter

He is going to be cuaght in those sitation, it was TE he had the TE on the play you can't hide that. If he is not matched on the TE then will be matched with another player be a RB or WR who also can run wheel routs. After a while your complaining about the coaches get to the point of rediculas. You can't hide players and teams will look to any mis match they can find. I guess all these other coaches are stupid they can't seem to match up with Witten so it is their fault right

It's a particular route that is giving him trouble. If he can't execute the play then you either get him off the field or you adjust.

You don't just say here is the play and cross your fingers and hope it works like what goes on in Dallas. Anyone could do this.

I think Carter needs another year in the 4-3 to be comfortable with his assignments. He has the athletic ability to be a star. I believe he is thinking too much instead of just reacting. He is so concerned about making a mistake, that it becomes a self-fulfilling concern. When he reacts quickly, he is a force at linebacker. i.e. the 10 yard loss on that Giants screen play.

Yes it is a rout and there is no way to know when that rout will be ran when he is already matched up on the player. What do we call timeout in the middle of the play holler it is a wheel rout so now Carter you move over there and this guy will not cover the play? lol There is no fricken way when they will know that player will run that rout and you can't have guys change assignments in the middle of the fricken play. Carter has been burned on it he has also defended that play however no one talks about that until or unless he is burned.

To be fair, aside from the painstakingly, stupid, dumb, idiotic play, he had a pretty damn good game.

I agree. Not going to make an excuse for him on that play he blew it and it was stupid, he also had some very nice athletic plays for loses in that game. I think anyone hollering he should be cut or released are being foolish and letting their own emotion get the better of them.

And no one feels worse about that play than he and Heath. I'm sure he was thinking, "I had a good game, until this happened." Hence, the "it is what it is". No excuse for that to happen. It looks like he may be one of those gifted players that lose focus at times.

I agree, No one wants to take the heat he will take over it, these guys do have pride you don't get this far in this game without having some pride and right now that pride and ego no doubt are bruised. However another aspect of sports is to learn from it and get over it, dwelling on it feeling sorry for yourself only makes matter worse. Get back out on the practice field, get your head into what you are doing and focus on the up coming game.

Notice how on that play Carr was sprinting FROM THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE FIELD to down him? Other players were furious at Carter/Heath

Lets hope that play wakes him up. I really have to wonder if he takes some plays off mentally.

But then we wouldn't have the ability to scapegoat carter lol

I dont think its scapegoating Carter as much as it is having higher expectations for him. I think everybody was exited about the Bruce Lee combo going into the season and while Carter has shown some flashes he hasnt been anywhere close to what many of us hoped he would be.

Carter is disappointing me... He has the physical tools be an all pro player but he's not playing up to that level. I can't understand why he's struggling so bad in coverage.

Ginger's praise is a process. He maybe hasn't found the "RKW - right kinda words" for Carter, as yet.

I remember reading the same thing about Dez.

You may want to check that memory BD. :p I don't think anyone thought Dez would not reach his potential. Maybe they questioned if Dallas should take a chance on him but his ability to develop was never an issue.

I personally everyone's expectations of every player is if they aren't a pro bowler then they suck. Just seems like a running trend is all
