Oddly, this game was confirmation for me that the Cowboys are right there

The Cowboys are right there. Niners are just a little better. In a way I am proud of this team. They showed up today and for at least half of the game, we were the better team. It wasnt like last year where we got embarrassed. We lost, but unlike the gleeful homers I didnt expect us to win. Dak didnt have a great game by any stretch, but again, against the #1 defense on the road I didnt expect him to. Dak is NOT elite. Top 10 but not elite. I thought the defense played great, they just got tired in the 4th quarter. I thought the Oline had a great game.

This game was essentially over the moment Pollard went out. I was proud of the coaching staff. It ONLY took 4 years and one playoff game, but they finally figured out how much better Pollard is than Zeke. They started Pollard and were featuring him until he went down. Sadly we had to depend on the horrid Zeke and the first two drives out of the he basically had 2 yards and 5 touches with 2 dropped passes.

Without Pollard, I think its abundantly obvious that we simply dont have enough playmakers. If I am the Cowboys I find a way to resign Pollard and Shultz and I get out of the Gallup contract if at all possible without much penalty. I make WR a priority in the offseason along with another RB to go with Pollard.

ON the road, this was a game that would come down to a one or two mistake here and there and thats exactly what happened. 2 picks by Dak, which were NOT good throws at all. Even the tipped ball he shouldnt have thrown. But again, was he feeling pressed because we cant rely on our kicker? Who knows? Niners D had 3 chances for picks and they capitalized on two of them. Well done. Cowboys had two easy picks and dropped them both. It matters. If turpin goes to the outside on that kickoff return, he has a easy TD. A few little things here and there.

Cowboys are right there. Niners/Bengals in the SB. Bengals take it all.

No doubt the clowns will blame Dak, Moore, Cooper not being here, yada yada yada so lets hear it all.

This was a very good season and the Cowboys are heading in the right direction with a great young defense and are right there at the top of the NFL in that handful of 6 or so teams that are true contenders.

That one was clearly overthrown and an athletic effort by Gallop was the only reason it was caught. There were other things that made me cringe early on but I'm not going to rewatch the whole game or anything. I just didn't see Dak initial start as being that good and thought we were very fortunate we didn't play against a better team. Dak did get better and ended up playing a good game. Yeah, you did. You said they showed up. That's like a pre-requisite. The offensive was god awful, and they lost to Mr. Irrelevant, who went out there looking like a 10 year pro. Dak on the other hand, looked like a rookie.

They did show up. Offense WAS terrible. Mr Irrelevant is 7-0. 10 year pro eh? Zero TD's and pretty much just handed the ball off?

Dak looked like what most QB's look like against the Niners. Not very good.

Thats odd, I dont recall you predicting another 12 win season and a playoff win. Something tells me you were one of the guys predicting a shot back down around 500.

And if you thought we should have won this game on the road against the Niners than I have to question your ability to analyze football.

For me this team did about exactly what I thought they would. Niners were the better team.

I agree. Purdy had two throws we should have intercepted. Changes the game. And he had one miraculous catch by his TE.

Can’t even do that. Doesn’t matter how “close” we are or that it looks like we belong. We lost again and there’s truly no reason to believe that with the same QB we can get over that hump. This was the year. We could all feel it. First road win since 92, first time beating Brady, rematch against niners. Dak had an awful game. A better performance we could have won. But we dropped two easy interceptions from Purdy. And he had one miraculous catch from his TE. Those plays on both sides tremendously impacted the result.

yep I heard that last year. We will have to wait and see what they do. If Zeke is still on this team next season we can all sit back and start drinking. there will be no hope.

It would be criminal to have Zeke back with that contract. Of the starters it's really Wilson, LVE, and Hankins on defense you consider bringing back. Offensively Steele will be back on a restricted tender. Then it's Pollard and Schultz. Pollard isn't going to be healthy during the free agent period and likely lost a lot of money. Schultz is going to get paid I think he's underappreciated here but have to weigh if it's more valuable to bring 2-3 other guys back for the cost of Schultz.
