Anyone who'd click on "find more posts by this user" would find that he's given us advance notice on a few tidbits. No earthshattering scoops but he's been pretty reliable.

Not really. Thus far it's just been regurgitation, and judging from Latinmind's post...

But we'll see how this one works out. Considering what a prick this guy has been (in particular to some guy who just wanted to share a story about meeting coach Phillips - you of all people should empathize there) and the lack (thus far) of any information that any of us couldn't have swiped from a rumor board and claimed as "insider", I don't really think any leeway is necessary.

If we see Thomas in NE today, the opinion starts to change. But you don't just trot in, offer nothing of any substance and then get indignant when people question you. It's in everyone's nature to be skeptical, and the burden of proof isn't on us.

PATS TARGETING THOMAS?

Several readers tells us that Adam Schefter of NFL Network said earlier this morning on WEEI in Boston that the Pats will make a big push for linebacker Adalius Thomas within the next 24 to 48 hours.

Meanwhile, John Clayton of ESPN.com reports that Thomas will visit the 49ers.

We heard earlier this week that the 49ers were believed to have a deal in principle with Thomas. But the problem with deals struck before the start of free agency is that they're not enforceable, and the player can pull the plug if he so chooses.

If this is true, then New England has burnt through at least $15M of their $26M salary cap space with only two players. That would leave somewhere around $11M for everything else. Question is, what is that and how many players become free agents next season?

If you look at the posting times, you'll see that this thread was created before the PFT posting. So there may be some validity to what was said.

My suggestion is just lay off the guy. It's as annoying to read the bashing as it is to read his responses.

Just take what he posts FWIW and leave it at that. If something comes of it, cool. If it doesn't, cool.

I can now confirm from someone I spoke with in NE that this is 100 percent true. If it's not announced that Thomas signs with the Pats, I'll never post on this board again as long as I live. The deal is done, he's a Patriot. I don't know how much clearer I can be about it.

the difference is in the content. SI and Schefter said that it was a possibility. This thread says it was a done deal. Minor detail. But not enough in my eyes to care one way or the other. Thomas isn't coming to Dallas.

Well said. It is quite annoying that some around here just seem to love bashing others for the sport of it. My thought is that they should be dealt with accordingly as this is trollish behavior.
