There are conflicting reports, read a tweet from an insider yesterday saying he has be ready for 2 weeks, but hasn't been medically cleared. He still isn't going to be ready even if the doctors ok him as he needs to get into football shape. Think the team wants to use that short-term ir on him.
PUP already allows the same roster management as moving a player to IR/DTR during the regular season.

Speculation had Jourdan Lewis and his rep pushing to get activated now due to worry about all the young CBs fighting for a spot on the roster.

Land was one of the three potential " surprise " cuts that i had on my list: Land, Scott and Brooks.
It's not a surprise. He's not ready to play yet, and he's not a special teamer. Most likely practice squad.

So they could of just kept him on the PUP? How many games would he be forced to miss with that designation?

What is the rule on PUP? If it doesn't cost a roster spot probably the way to go. Patrik Walker claims he is 100% ready to go...doing every drill out there without issues. Is it better to have him on roster and then put him on IR?

These are excellent questions, I am not sure about the rules. I thought they needed to be on the active roster to be put on the short term, injured reserve or miss the entire season. However, these rules have changed recently after covid.

Wish we had a true feeling on his health. He is the biggest sal cap savings we have for vets.

Depth behind the starters outside of Lewis is still a concern.
You could probably say that about every NFL team. How many teams have 4 NFL starting quality CBs? Stephon Gilmore, Trevon Diggs, Daron Bland, and Jourdan Lewis is a pretty good group. Also, I liked Israel Mukuamu when they moved him from S to CB at the end of the season last year. He seems to have the ability to play S as well as CB. Scott, Joseph and the rest of the guys (if they make the roster) are better suited for special teams at this time.
