Yes, if the player has less than 4 accrued NFL seasons and is subject to Waivers.

After 24 hours on Waivers, any players that go unclaimed become unrestricted free agents and can then be added to any teams' Practice Squad.

Practice Squad players can join any team's 53 man roster if given the opportunity, but they are not required to.

Sometimes, the Practice Squad team will increase the player's contract to match the NFL minimum and the player will elect to stay instead of joining a new team's 53.

One thing to note about the practice squad is teams can have up to 6 players with over 2 years experience.

10 players must have two years or less of accrued seasons(being on the Practice squad counts)
6 can be 2+ years experience.

Chargers could be interested in Grier. They just acquired a 7th round pick from Cleveland for their kicker. They could easily flip that for Grier.

That would make sense with KM’s familiarity with Grier.

I saw the Colts cut Emil Ekiyor.
I liked him at Alabama and in the draft. He was projected as a 3-4th rounder, but he went undrafted due to a knee concern.
