So how do the protected PS spots work?

Teams can designate up to four practice squad players a week as "protected" meaning they cannot be signed by another team.

If I remember correctly there is no limit to how many times a team can protect an individual player.

Wasn't Alarcon cut hours ago? Re-join the practice squad LOL, no thanks. Would be a complete waste of a spot.

Practice Squad isn't that bad of a spot for him. He can practice as a DT and OL which actually gives us a two for one. Not that it would help him ever get on the team, but sometimes they'll keep a guy there because he helps in practice. Like Jamiel Showers.

Exactly why I’m all for trading picks for established players like Cooks and Gilmore

I get that point but we can’t deny a lot of our best players are draft picks

Parsons, Osa, Golston, and Mukuamu still make the 2021 draft a great haul. Big misses on Joseph, Wright, Cox, and Ball but the rest were late picks.

Well, Jospeh won't be a total miss if Noah Igoobobaloo 2 electric bugaloo turns out to have any use.

I always thought the 3rd round of the 2021 draft was garbage. Osa being the only real player found with 3 picks.

It turns out the 4th round was even worse where we went Cox and Ball for craps and giggles.

I told you guys Mike McCarthy was surprised when informed by the media about Jerry trading for Trey Lance. It's obvious McCarthy did not want to cut Will Grier.

I hate to think Mike is so dumb that he’d prefer a 28 year old journeyman as his #3 developmental QB over a physically talented 23 year old. Grier would be better for this season because he knows the offense, but he has no upside for us. Actually, until the final preseason game, there was a lot of venom directed his way because he was playing so poorly.

So don’t think it. Mike is not dumb. Hard to believe, because he’s the HC of the Dallas Cowboys, AND he’s fat, but he’s got a ring. Plus, he knows more than you or me.
