I think Brown could start over Nick Hayden without much of a problem.

I don't hate the Jones pick. He's a hell of an athlete, and can play a couple of positions. He also needs a lot of technique work, and is a little grabby in coverage down the field. Brown could play all three downs as a 1T and an inside rusher on pass downs. I believe the lineman is a better use of resources when comparing the two, IMO.

Brown is odd in that he is really not that good against the run or holding up to double teams like you want in a 1tech. His best skills is penetrating like a 3tech. His quickness is elite for a 1tech but probably not for a 3tech.

I've said that I would be interested to see Grady Jarrett drop some weight and be a pure 3tech. I have a similar feeling about Brown.

Get to know your Cowboys, and more specifically, your defensive scheme.

The 1-tech DT DOES come off the field in the nickel. You're going to spend the #27 pick on a player who plays first down, then goes to the sideline for 2nd and 3rd.

He comes off the field cause our 1 techs suck! If we had a stud he'd be in there !!!

Good pick.................people apparently cant comprehend that Mo and Carr are both gone after this year..............Mo because he sucks and Carr because he is grossly overpaid.

So yes, CB was a HUGE NEED for this team.

Love the fact Jones can play cb or free safety. Coach Henderson said on the draft talk show (after the pick) the Boys play a lot of nickel and we need someone who can match up with the bigger wr's and Jones has that versatility at cb or fs.

I don't think that New England agrees with that assessment - they took him, and they don't play a 4-3 under.

Outside of our pick, best thing about this draft? Mariota has that similar Eli Manning derpy drool face.

Going to be fun to make some memes of him.

One of the other best drafting teams picked Jones.

We'll find out in due course which of them drafted better on this occasion.

Well, in all fairness, many think they too would have taken Jones if he was there at 32.
They supposedly love Byron Jones and had a need at the position. He's from the area...heck, he's even built like Revis.

We'll never know now. And yeah, NE got great value for sure.

Obvioulsy like the pick as my first choice. I think this guy has the potential to be the leader of the defense. I also agree the Pats would not have let him go by. Onto day 2!

Pick definitely made sense in terms of need/BTA.
Haven't really "studied" any of the corners this draft. Hoping that he breaks our curse of 1st round cornerback disappointments.

The Jones pick was a cap-defensive move with Carr and OScan in mind, as well as Mo'. This makes the releasing of Carr move feasible, althong I do not think we will do that this year. Was not a sexy pick but down the road we just might see the wisdom of it. And down the road could very well be this year.

This was not a horrible pick or a sexy pick. Just a wise and solid pick. Did anyone REALLY think Gregory was an option? C'mon! We already have too many high-maintenance guys here already:

Dez
RoMac
Hardy
Anyone else I might have overlooked? We do not need another dope smoker who cannot spell car if you give him the C and the A.

As for Brown, I heard about as many good as bad reviews of him the closer the draft got. Plus, Rod would not advise JJ to draft a wide body fat guy in the first, I do not think.

I really like the pick. Smart, freakish athletes are a good combination which just elevates his potential. His versatility to play either CB or S is an added bonus. I fully expect the Boys to draft another corner on day 3. Really hoping to see us get a DT and a RB today. I'm sensing another trade up this year but this may be the year to stand pat. At least until the 5th round. Lots of good names left on the board. Lots of good athletes who nobody's been talking about. Yet.

With the exception of a RB and OT, I'm really hoping the Cowboys stay D Heavy and in 2 years our D-Line can approach what our O-Line is looking like now. Especially if we manage to extend Hardy. Feeling very optimistic going into days 2 & 3.

And with the 2nd pick in the 2015 NFL draft, the Tenn Titans select Marcus Marioto

Still can't get over how that punk Goodell couldn't even pronounce his name right. He had problems with the letter O all night
