Yes, the Pats don't value the defensive backfield...oh, except for the enormous amount of resources they spent on it last season.

I never said that so you are assuming. But the Pats agree with me. They got the better player in my opinion.

Who cares who your corners are when your dline is trash. Did you watch the Packers game last year? Because it will be the same thing as last year for the 2015 season.

Horrible pick.

You're discounting the injuries we had in the DL, the addition of Hardy, the development of D-Law and our young depth. It's doubtful that Brown would have started over any of our current DL.

OTOH, Mo and Carr will both be gone after this year, and Jones has the flex and smarts to play anywhere back there, including the FS that we've been missing for several years.

We needed help with CB so I'm fine with the pick. The thought of Carr playing catch up/causing defensive PI out of helplessness all year makes me cringe, so I'll take any help we can get. The draft is not over, there will be other defensive fronts we can add in later rounds.

Was really hoping for Gordon but just too many RB needs.

Sorry, I just remembered Jerry mentioned that signing Jones might allow us to do "something special" at safety, but it wasn't clear to me what he was talking about.

So he didn't really say they could live without a CB?

The pick makes sense and was good value.

I liked Brown, too, but it's not like Jones was an illogical reach at 27.

I am not discounting those injuries. That is kind of my point. You can't count on them. Injury prone and frankly, not that good.

You could have gotten a solid DL player and gotten a guy that is not that big of a drop off in DB later on.

Don't get this pick at all. Especially a guy coming off shoulder surgery. Those tend to linger.

Byron Jones starts day 1. Brown does not.

When Dallas goes against the Packers and Pats they will understand what you are saying. Just give it time.

Lets hope they address the dline this weekend but some how I doubt it.

I think Brown could start over Nick Hayden without much of a problem.

I don't hate the Jones pick. He's a hell of an athlete, and can play a couple of positions. He also needs a lot of technique work, and is a little grabby in coverage down the field. Brown could play all three downs as a 1T and an inside rusher on pass downs. I believe the lineman is a better use of resources when comparing the two, IMO.
