It's simple. Garrett is doing what most scared mediocre coaches do. They play it conservative because it makes it easier to answer the post game questions when you fail.

You nailed it. Garrett is ALWAYS about himself. ALWAYS. He will never make a gutsy call that if it doesn't work would put the blame on himself. He always wants someone to blame - Wade, Ryan, Romo, Defense, oline, RBs, etc. Always

This is true. He never puts his legacy on the line and owns his calls. So his legacy will be as a failure.

I hate Schwarz but his going for it early on 4th and goal was gutsy. So was declining the holding penalty. Garrett would have done neither.

There was 1:07 left on the clock. Had he declined the penalty, Dallas would have run a play, maybe take 5 seconds off the clock, then burn 45 seconds and punt.

He had to decline it. He's not getting into scoring position with 15 seconds left.

Agreed. And have you ever seen Garrett get fired up and hold his players accountable? Sure, he benched someone big deal. I'm talking about really holding them accountable.

Which is why you take a knee and punt.

I bet Garrett would have taken the penalty thinking it would move the other team out of FG range. In fact I'm not even sure he would have known about the clock stoppage

I totally agree with you. But usually when something like this is said, a Garrett lover will ask how often Tom Landry got fired up.....as if the 2 coaches are even close to being equals.

It should be apparent, even to those it wasn't apparent to before. How long can we let this go on? We have a good team and he blows it. I have no confidence in this guy whatsoever. He's an idiot.

Great circus clown, poor NFL coach.Listen to his post game interviews after a loss and you'll see the man is out of his league.

I don't hate Garrett, but when I assess the matchups between us and the team we are playing, I always give the nod to the other team in the head coach department. This guy is a pregame Vince Lombardi and a game time Dave Campo.

Heck we don't even use play action anymore. Even when the other team is playing the run. Garrett has the worst offensive playbook in the league.

And even when Romo has 30+ higher QBR when using a playaction pass. Even with a bad running game.
It's mind boggling why we don't use it more.

I don't hate Garrett, .

I do. I know it isnt healthy, but I am starting to hate JG as much as I hate Jerry. Not as people, but I hate their guts as head coach and GM of the Dallas Cowboys. Despise them.

That's all well and good. I just don't give Schwarz credit for declining the penalty when it was, logically, the only thing he could really do in that situation.

Understood. I don't think Garrett knows the meaning of "logically".

Yeah, let's be honest. Niether of these guys aspire confindence in their respective positions.

Well, yeah, but that's mostly idiot posters who wax nostalgia and don't really know much of what they're talking about. The writing has been on the wall for a long time regarding Garrett. Most pro-Garrett guys just get hit with a skunk in the face and think it's a squirrel.
