spiking the ball is playing to win. the only reason you give away a down is you think it saves you clock time for more downs and you only get more downs if you convert a first down. it was aggressive - which is opposite of conservative playing for a tie.

how so many of you are missing this is crazy.
What your are missing is blatantly obvious. We lost the game. We spiked the ball, didnt convert for a first down and left extra time on the clock and lost. If we run a play and don't complete it, but it runs 5 seconds off of the clock, at the end of the game there is not enough time for the 36 yard pass. At worst, we should of went to over time. Killing play kills your offense and poor clock management kills your team for the game winning field goal.

I really want to get behind Garret, I think he is a fine Monday-Saturday coach but he has been terrible at game management to finish halves and games. We ultimately didn't get badly burned by not running a SINGLE time to finish the drive at the end of the half, but we gave Rodgers 1:00 by throwing it three times. A terrible decision is a terrible decision regardless of results. Then there's the 3rd and 2 on the opening drive, why oh why did we invest in this line and Zeke if we won't ride them? Finally comes the spike on the final drive when we had a TO in our pocket.
In the NFL the margin of victory can be razor thin, and coaching decisions like these are just unacceptable. The loss is fresh and pain full but you could put together a pretty damning low-light reel of Garret's late half and game decisions. This isn't some fresh faced new coach he's been in charge of at least the offense since 2007... Nine years and he is still struggling in game management. I don't know what to say, I like the man he seems like a smart and stand up guy but he has been terrible to end games...

He is like Andy Reid with Clock management.

But at least Andy Reid has won in the playoffs.

Jason Garrett has not.

If you don't think the staff is just as upset as the posters here, you would be VERY wrong.

As for why we create these threads, its because in the past when we didn't stop users from creating new threads, there were dozens of new threads posted in the Fan Zone every minute, mostly on the same topic, mostly with one or two sentences at most. There are over 800 logged in members on the site right now and a single forum like the Fan Zone cannot support any type of actual discussions if 20+ threads are being created every minute.

I understand you're upset about the game and so are we, but pointing your anger at a free web site's staff is rather pointless.

The only thing that annoys me the most are the mistakes we make early on during the game. Butler, I mean come on. Did Green Bay have any penalties. Other than that, I thought Garrett did a fine job with a bad defense. It was a matter of time before we were exposed.

The playcalling before the half by Linny was awful. That's what lost this game IMO. I knew the defense was going to have problems, but they actually played pretty well in the 2nd half. JG offers nothing on gameday however.

What I really don't like is the stupid player. Butler is a stupid player. He had a stupid penalty in the first game as well.

If Rodgers can get a FG at will in 30 seconds why wouldn't he get a TD at will in ot?

well, it's a new game and 50/50 shot at getting the ball first. Score a TD and Dallas wins.

I mean, can you not accept that there may have been a better way to play it since we lost in regulation after being tied with 35 seconds left to a Top 3 all time QB with 2 TOs

Software should be able to handle 20 threads per minute. I agree that we all fire off at once because it's the fury of the crowd. If the forum software can't handle this I'm shooked as a software engineer

Let's get to the real problem of the Dallas Cowboys. It goes deeper than Jason Garrett, Linehan or them, it's their boss. Jerry is too loyal to players and coaches. It's why I wouldn't be surprised if Romo is back and we know Garrett will be back.
