You know, I've disliked Romo with all my might in week 1 and week 4. But I'm not going to blame him anymore. Jason Garrett is holding him back. There's no telling how good our offense would be if we had a real offensive coordinator.

But Jerry Jones enjoys losing too much, he won't change this.
he was holding him back in week 1 and 4? wow

Anybody have stats on Dallas' REdzone effeciency this year?

You can't get into the redzone...inside the 10 even and keep settling for FG attempts, especially agianst a team like NE

The thing about it, Garrett has been doing this for years but Wade Philips took the brunt of the criticisms. JG can't escape from it now. He knew we could not run all day. We had a chance to knock them out but JG played not to lose. Giving the ball back to Brady and company was suicide. I knew we lost the minute we punted the ball. Like I said, we have to rid ourselves of JG, Romo, and most of all Jerry Jones.

Not true.

The criticisms from the Wade teams came from the team looking wholly unprepared for the fundamentals of football.

This team plays hard for 60 minutes. That's not debateable. Yes, they get penalties, but it's almost always on hustle plays now.

Were 2-3, not yet a good team. But when your D is playing lights out, you don't want the offense to make a mistake like they have been prone to do in 2 prior losses. You give your D a shot to close it out in this case. Unfortunately it didnt work today.

By himself against Washington?

Any time a defense holds another offense to 16 points, I'm pretty sure they've earned some credit.

Just going on the assumption that Dez doesn't -- you can still tell him what to do if he doesn't know the plays.

Yeah, it's backyard football, but I'll take "hey Dez, I'm going to throw it up to you toward the corner" over a shovel pass on the 5 yard line 7 days out of 7.

I do not understand why Jason cant put Dez in position to just go up and get one every now and then. But hey lets turn him into Wes Welker...sounds smart to me.

How this is lost on some people is amazing. Unfortunately, it also seems to be lost on Garrett.

Garrett's Logic "Well fans and Media want me to run so I'll run" doesn't understand the situation at all.

Brady and Peyton do whatever you can to avoid giving them the ball on 2 minute drives. :bang2:

I like what Garrett has done so far as a head coach. I'd love him to stay that for a while. He knows how to handle the media, knows how to establish a much needed attitude in the locker room and most of all he has a feeling to assemble talent around him coaching wise.

As a OC he was and still is medicore. He isn't able to establish a balanced attack. To me his playcalling is much to predicable. He relys to much on big play passing offense. To often he sticks much too long to one kind of offensive play.

The biggest problem to me is how to get rid of Garrett as an OC and still having him as a HC. I think his ego is to big to give the OC job to someone else.

Rob Ryan is showing us what a good coach can do with great players. I know a lot of people love Garrett. But don't get fooled by nice and logical words from him. Judge him by what you see when he calls plays. To me as i said i like him as a HC. As an OC i really have a problem with him.

I am being super sarcastic of course, but what do really need -- an all-pro guard, an all-pro center, and a 'hammer' at tailback, will we be good then?

Regardless of whether Garrett was trying to protect Romo on that conservative playcalling, either way, that still looks bad on Garrett. You've had 5 years to get to Romo and develop him and coach him up on his mistakes. After 5 years, NOW you're trying to protect him? Get outta here with that :laugh2: Pathetic coaching

Garrett let him do his thing weeks 1 and 4, then cuffed him today. Putting all the weight on Ryan's shoulders.

Imagine if he had a real offensive coordinator to work with. If anything, Romo has played terrific with the horrible playcalls he's forced to work with his whole career.

Guys it all comes down to Garrett understands they don't have a consistent run game. He has to call plays accordingly. I don't care who is play calling. A team that cant run will not succeed very often

So he knows they cant run, but he calls 3 straight running plays trying to milk 3 min off the clock sitting on a 3 point lead with Brady standing on the other sideline?

What a complete joke Garrett is, playing scared.

Most of you are too fair weather to be cowboy fans. You complain when he throws the ball with a lead and you conplain when he runs the ball with a lead.
Oh and dont forget the GOD like Rob Ryan whose ELITE defense have given up final drive touchdowns the last 2 games when we had a lead.

All you guys who said you were through with Garrett and the Cowboys go away dont even post anymore.

If Romo would have thrown interception, the same crowd would be calling for runs.

You cant rely on Romo and the running sucks. Garrett relied on Defense. I dont blame him.

Done with this team just done, I cant do this anymore. Everyone one of them are worthless and just need to go away, far away and never come back.
bye-bye, and don't come back!

Sadly...I dont even think Jason was trying to protect Tony. I think he really thought his brilliant play calling was well...brilliant.

Not true CA, the penalties are generally from the offensive side.

The offense constantly looks disorganized, clueless and down right disappears for long stretches of the game. This has been a hallmark of Garrett's tenure here. It just doesn't get fixed.

JG's play calling in the RedZone has been questionable at best, and not just this game, but during his entire tenure. It's frustrating because after all this time and experience you would figure it would improve. I think it's time to admit we need an actual OC. We gauge players by how they improve and grow over time and coaches shouldn't be any different. JG has not improved and moving the ball between the 20's is great, but getting 3's instead of 7's is not going to cut it.

Not if we're still chaotic in the redzone/situanional playcalls.
