Official Randal El to Skins thread...

Give me a break. If we had signed him, we'd be singing his praises. Since it's the Skins, we're obsessing on his flaws. Petty.

Face it Skins fans, you had multiple holes to fill and you guys went out and got 2 #3 receivers. In the process you lost multiple draft picks!!! hahaha. Have fun spinning this "successful" free agency!

Would you pay 25 mill over 6 years for a guy coming off a 35 catch, 558 yard receiving year?

for his career he averages ~ 40 catches, 500 yards receiving, and 2 tds per year

He might have been the best FA WR, but still overrated and overhyped. He's quick, not fast and he's short. I just don't get spending that much on a guy who will be the 4th most talented WR. Maybe they aren't planning on signing a 3rd string QB...

What is the obsession on this board with saying that Snyder and Gibbs overpay their players?! Don't you think that an intelligent billionaire and a HOF coach know a little bit more than common fans.

It has been unseasonably warm in DC this weekend - it must be cap hell! Oh wait, that doesn't exist!

Randle El? I would have been pissed if we gave a kick returner a 30 million dollar contract with 10 mill in bonuses. Your Commanders envy is showing

Seriously, how is the D slipping? And if we are losing dollars how are we on the verge of singing Archuleta and Andre Carter?

What I do agree with, to an extent is draft picks. I don't feel like making a long winded post about this on your board, but this is how the Commanders of the 80s were built, on free agents

The 1982 superbowl team had 26 free agents. Gibbs uses the draft not to fill particular needs, but to build some depth and have guys ready to step in a few years down the line. Players like Molinara, Broughton, McCune, and Campbell are examples of that

It does however give us less margin for error in the draft. But then again the Iggles have had double digit draft picks the past few years and have yet to win a Superbowl

And as all of us know, thats what it is all about

Gibbs has made it abundantly clear how enamored he is with free agency. He would rather spend money on proven commodities than college players.

When you sign a proven commodity let me know.

I wanted Randle El. If for no other reason than it probably would have meant no TO.

I like the guy. He's nowhere near hsi ex-teammate Hines Ward as far as a threat, but he's not bad. They paid too much. No matter how much I like him, that's just too much.

That "joke" beat us twice last year, got into the playoffs and won a game there.
If Randel El isn't any good, then why do all the sites have him rated high?

I get a laugh out of some folks here. If WE had signed him, you'd be saying nice things about him.

Wow a realist.

Enjoy the expensive cancer that will join your team on Wednesday.

Personally, I would rather have the young talent that has been added to the Skins this weekend.

This is BS.
Washington had to cut and scrape to get under the cap and yet they're making big splashes in FA. Yet all we have to show is an average O-Lineman and a visit with a backup TE and $20 million in cap room to spare.

So, you decide to come to this board to have your "homeristic orgasm "? Where were all you fools that last 5 or 6 years?

When did Dallas last win a playoff game?

I am ticked off at Parcells and Jerry Jones....We have tons of money and we are letting everyone else sign players.

PATHETIC

I am NOT impressed with this off-season. Things better heat up tomorrow and Tuesday or we're gonna be stuck with avg players at KEY spots again this year like K,FS,LB,O-line ETC..........

3rd ranked in 04, 10th in 05. Another slip like that will have you middle of the pack. There were some numbers on here the other day, comparing your defensive stats with Arrington starting, versus not. They were quite revealing. I know the only thing that matters, after years of toilet-bowl teams, in Commander land is the Cowboys....but you played other teams, too. Like him or not, your run defense is MUCH worse without LaVar. Hope Saunders has you guys around #1 next year, I think your defense will need it.:)

Lavar sucks and has since his injury.

Hey, excellent rebuttal. Skins top 5 defense in 06. What was I thinking, using actual proof?

Offensive genuis? Now thats funny. Moss, Lloyd, and Cooley combined aren't in Hines Ward's category.

Wow, I thought we were homers on extreme. Did you watch Santana Moss last year? Other than Steve Smith, there was no better receiver in football.

For those of you who say he is slow, if you ever played football you would know the guy has football speed, doesn't lose speed with pads. Not to mention he is an allpro kick/punt returner that we have sorely lacked since B Mitch was in town.

As far as the signing goes, I don't agree with the cash we gave up to get this guy, but its definately an upgrade. Last time I checked, we had the 11th ranked offense last year and its only going to get better this year.

On the bright side, we should have a much better time on draft day.
