Here it is. I've been waiting to hear what Periera has to say and he doesn't disappoint.

At least for those who think it was a conspiracy against Dallas they give you a look at that play where the Jets were screwed over in the same fashion.

Tried to find the bonus coverage so I could hear his BS about the 3rd challenge but no luck yet.

Also, I didn't hear about Cleveland getting a 4th timeout. Wonder what he has to say about that one as well.

Too late.......not that it mattes. You have the more sensationalist title so you win.

I can't seem to decide who I have more disdain for,Mike Pereira or Roger Goodell.I wonder how far Pereiras' head would go up Goodells' *** if you kicked Pereira in the ***.Pereira looks like an *** kisser.

His explaination of what is needed to recover a fumble is news to me and it doesnt really make sense. You have to have posession as you are going to the ground...check. You have to have possesion on the ground...check. Then what? He has to stand up again? I mean the ball is clearly ripped out of his arms as he rolls around...

He just doesn't want to admit his crew messed up, unlike when he admitted it on McNabbs spotting last week.

And the comparison to the Denver/Jet game and footage... man, that guy on the Jets had that ball for nearly 2 seconds before it popped out... we got screwed, but they REALLY got it...

Yeah, that's pretty rough.

Ok, and I went back and watched the end again.

Um, Dude, really? 1 out of 25 of these would be a clean review? Ok, this is a game changing play. That's what challenges are for. If they challenge this, and lose, they lose a challenge and a timeout... move on. They should make this a challengable/reviewable play. If a coach wants to waste one, let him waste it... but the 2 plays they showed, the Jets/Devner game, and Felix Jones... were both recovered by the fumbling team, only to get screwed over by the refs. It's right there, plain as day, and he is trying to tell us the sky is purple, and the grass is plaid, and it's so obviously plain to everyone but him. He's just being stubborn due to the rule, and doesn't want to say that the rule is wrong.

Mike Pereira made himself look pretty bad this week. I have to admit though, he can double talk better than any politician out there.

I still wanna find out what he had to say about the 3rd challenge. That one will probably never make it on the site.

That would be BIG TIME Bush League.

I gotta believe they will get it posted.

These interpretations of possession are the problem.

Felix had possession.

What's he suupposed to do roll around with the ball for five seconds and then stand up and then lay back down before they say he possessed the ball?

:banghead:

I don't agree with the way they rule the WR's falling out of bounds and having to roll around with the ball either.

Once the guy gets his feet down and leaves the field of play and any part of his body touches the out of bounds the play should be over with. He shouldn't have to keep posession until all of his momentum stops while he rolled over three times 10 yards past the end line.

It's just getting too picky in my opinion.

I watch this guy every week go over his horrible officiating crews and every week I am even more amused and baffled.

These officials are absolutely terrible and they get worse every year.

So Mike, even if you were allowed to challenge the fumble recovery, you still think the call on the field should have stayed the same? Incompetence! Felix was on the ground and had clear control. The second he was touched by the defender, he was down by contact ending the play.

These officials decide games week in and week out and something has to be done. Sadly, we have a Commissioner who is more interested in handing out fines for players passing gas on the field and moving regular season games to London than taking care of things that are really important.

This is why I stated after the play happened that the question of whether the fumble should or should have been reviewed was never the issue.

The only issue is why would a referee, standing within five yards of the play and able to see everything happen, determine that the ball wasn't recovered by Felix Jones.

The message is clear. If a player falls on a fumble and you're on the opposing team, do everything humanly possible to rip the ball out of the guy's arms. If it means ripping the guy's arm out of its socket in plain view of the referee, so be it. The ball is live until the ref sees blood spurting out. Even then, that may not be enough to have the whistle blown.

This is a travesty, pure and simple. The rule must be changed and changed soon.
