Not only our game with the packers, but the jets rb fumble that was worse than ours some say, the 4 timeouts in the 2nd half in cleveland game

just shows out terrible officiating has gotten, just like in the patriot game, the patriot did have the first down his forward momentum, but the refs blew that call and i cant stand the patriots either due to belicheck the cheater

we are seeing just how vulnerable he is now that he cant cheat, teams are beating him and the patriots
yeah 18-1, then Brady gets hurt and they go 11-5 and they're just getting killed this year.

sometimes it does, remember what our forefathers fought for in liberty, that started out with a petition

Are you willing to go to war over this? If so, check into a hospital ASAP.

I wonder how an independent contractor would do in the referee business. The contractor would have to grade out to a pre-determined rate or they would lose the contract or forfeit money due to bad performance.

Just thinking out of the box.

Craig
For most officiating leagues, referees are independent contractors and work under an organization.

NASO for high school and below. All the college conference officials work under the umbrella of that conference, but are contractors.

I imagine the NFL officials work under something similar.

I'm thinking they need to take it a little farther.Make it to where the officials are employed by a third party in a right to work state. If the NFL decides that the contractor who holds the contract is not meeting the mandates/obligations of the contract the NFL withholds a portion of the payment or terminates the contract. It wouldn't take long for the organizatioin that holds the contract to ship out a referee who has a propensity for bad calls. In todays corporate society money talks, the thought of losing a contract over poor performance would drive a company to run a tight ship.In doing this it would also allow the NFL to distance itself from the officiating and openly criticize a bad call instead of the current spinmaster Mike Pereira.

It is doubtful that any of this could ever happen,I think the referees are to embedded in the league to go anywhere anytime soon.
