I may be behind on this one but I just finished Wheel of Time on Prime Video. Before I get into the show I need to rant about Amazon Prime for a minute.

I have a Samsung TV and I mostly stream through the apps on the TV. I normally watch Netflix this way and I never have a streaming problem. It works first time, every time. Amazon, not so much. About every 3 tries the app starts to load and craps out. To get it to work I have to reset the TV by unplugging it for 20 seconds and then restarting it. This works most of the time, but not all the time. I should not have to fight with my TV to get Amazon Prime to work. Today was a battle royale. But eventually I got it working (I never give up on these things. EVER!) and was able to catch the last episode of Wheel of Time.

I really liked the first 7 episodes. I am not typically a big Rosamond Pike fan, but she did not annoy me too much in this show. In fact, of all the primary actors she is probably the only one I would not replace with another actor. Maybe I'd keep the guy who plays her sidekick too. I mean seriously, they had to try to find unattractive actors for this show. But it is not just the looks. I just don't think the actors fit the parts they are playing and in some cases the acting itself is a little weak. The kid they got to play the main protagonist is just an awful fit for the part, IMO. It is not bad enough to ruin the show, just a little detail I noticed.

The problem with the show is the final episode. What a major disappointment. I thought it was Game of Thrones final episode bad. I get that they wanted to set up season 2, if there is a season 2 coming, but surely they could have done a better job than what they produced. If there is no season 2 then Wheel of Time ends like Dark Matter. Huge cliffhanger never to be explained or resolved.

I won't get into spoilers, except one thing that is bugging me below. Overall, I liked the series despite the last episode. If there is a season 2 I will probably watch it. I give it a 7 out of 10.

When the the Army of Trollocs is attacking through the pass the ruler of Fal Dara takes his army to the barrier at the opening of the pass to try to hold the Torllocs from getting through. In the meantime, his sister summons a handful of women who can channel the power so they can unite as a last defense when the Trollocs break through the Fal Dara army, which they do. So the 5 women are left to stand against the entire Trolloc army. They channel the power and direct it to the sister of the ruler and then she directs the combined power at the Trollocs - and destroys the entire army. Thank goodness for that! But my question is, if they could do that then why didn't they go to the pass instead of the entire army and destroys the Trollocs before they got through the barrier wall? Would have saved a lot of lives.

Got a vizio quite a few years ago. Initially Youtube and Netflix worked well on it.
However after so many app updates the TV just quit updating them for whatever reason.
I don't think that is just a Vizio issue. I think a good deal of smart TVs have that issue after they age some.
I would hope that some of the current ROKU tv's would keep up with the updates but who knows.

After that I got a Roku and now I have a Roku and a Fire stick.
Overall I like the Roku better, however it does not have the option, that I know of, to down other apps that allow you to watch shows from sites that are frowned upon (not porn lol) .

I use the Prime button on my remote. If that's what you do, maybe try clicking on the app in the menu?
I think they weren't sure if they could. Either that, or they would have been too exposed there.[Spoiler/]

Think Boba only has 2 more, so 7.

You're right, though. I'd rather have a good, concise story than more fluff episodes.
That is the problem with regular TV, filler. They pick the pilot up, the producers owe them X number of episodes/shows regardless of whether they've got that many in them.

With the streamers, the limited series and regular seasons do not have that requirement as it is a project that may or may not continue.

I usually wait for all episodes to load in before I start watching so I know in advance when the last one will be and I usually try and wait to see if there will be a continuation. I broke this with "The Warrior Nun" and don't know if there will be a follow up or not but I really liked it.

Have not watched his stand up stuff. However I do watch a lot of clips of him on various game shows out of England and he cracks me up. Don't know if you have ever watched clips of the shows 8 out of 10 cats or the big fat quiz that he hosts but they are normally pretty funny. Especially Joe Wilkinson's bits on there.
He is really funny and quick but I wonder on these specials they do about the reshoots because he's almost too quick.

The best I have seen so far at carrying off the edgy stuff is Anthony Jeselnik. He also looks like the kind of comic that would do that. I recommended him to a friend who I though liked stand up and she didn't like him at all. She texted me "this Jeselnik guy is a horrible person". If I knew his number, I would have forwarded it to him with the message "Anthony, job well done".

Another issue is a series becomes really popular so the writers of the show are pressured to provide more content and it starts deviating from the original story line. LOST was a great example of this. Some characters (like Hurley) were just to be a slight side character but the show became popular and people liked him so they started dedicating back stories and more for him and others to keep the show going.

Watched Hellbound on Netflix.
Korean film, dub isn't bad at all.

Very entertaining show. Only 6 episodes so it goes by pretty fast.

I liked the first 3 episodes before the big time jump, more so than the last 3. Was the taxi cab driver at the end the detective who never came back after the jump?

The Hulu app is junk as well. I'm watching a series on there, and not only does it 'return' to the wrong episode when I go back to it, but I have to pause the next episode when it starts because for some reason they all start very dark. Amazing that a widely-used app from a billion dollar company is still like this.

Network and cable producers are ratings bound for ad dollars The streamers are all about subscribers and do not have to abide by the same rules.

I think Kurt Sutter wanted to end Sons if Anarchy a season earlier but gave in to the network in order to grease the skids for his next project, The ******* Executioner, which failed.

I haven't had any problems with Hulu, except that there isn't a lot worth watching. Brooklyn Nine Nine is pretty good though.

Yes, IIRC he was. I was wondering if that was setting up another season, or maybe just a way to show that he was better off staying away. IDK[spoiler/]

Thats what I thought since he knew her name.

I would guess a 2nd season is coming, because at the end it showed the original woman with the 2 kids that was aired live on TV, coming back to life from her remains

I’ve been watching Frazier there (mainly because the other apps darken the end credits information).
I watched that too, but I don't remember if it was on Hulu or a different one. I was surprised how many episodes I'd forgotten, and how many celebrities called in to the show.

That's why I like to be able to see those end credits. I try to guess the caller's voice and then see if I was right.

Just finished the first 2 episodes of The Legend of Vox Machina, and animated series on Prime. So far, it's pretty good, though it had the potential to be exceptional. It's got a few of the lesser traits of anime that I don't care for, like cutesy humor in parts, and a little stop action fight scenes, but not too bad. It's definitely not for children. So far, I'd give it a 7/10.

Watching - All of Us are Dead on Netflix. High School drama mixed with zombies. Though 3 episodes so far - pretty entertaining. Another Korean Netflix show that is delivering.

The one thing I have a hard time with though, and I know this sounds BAD, but I'm keep having a hard time following who is who. I'm thinking with it being dubbed and not hearing the actors true voice probably doesn't help it.

FYI - the zombies are done extremely well. This isn't the slow moving zombie and the turn itself is worth the watch alone.

So, chatting with a friend about wanting to get Paramount+ for Halo (when it comes out) and he made mention that he got 1 year free through T-Mobile. I'm with T-Mobile! I went to the website, and boom, there it was. So I signed up for the service. It does have ads (which kind of sucks, but hey, it's free), but there is a lot of interesting content on the app. I'm looking forward to having this.

I do have a question for you all though! I thought Yellowstone was on Paramount+? I could not find it for the life of me last night searching around. Am I misunderstanding what platform it is on?
