One of the first things I noticed about that show was ammo, debris, etc. actually pierce space ships which made it very different than other space shows early on.

I enjoyed the show and, while I was disappointed it ended, at least they gave it some closure at the end which is more than you can say about a lot of other shows.
When I found out there was only one episode left, I was worried they were going to cram everything together at the end, or leave it incomplete, but they did a really good job, IMO.

They're also more careful about the science than most space shows are. They do make the sound of the ships audible from outside perspective, but I assume that's because it would seem strange to not hear them, as a viewer. I personally would prefer the realism, but most of the other technical aspects are so spot on that I don't feel like it's an oversight on their part, but a choice.

On the other side of the coin, how about Star Trek Beyond when they jump start the ship by driving it off a really high cliff. The ship, which must weight 10s of thousands of tons hits the sides of the mountain multiple times as well as other mountain peaks as it climbs in altitude without sustaining any damage! Even the idea that the ship could fall that far and yet still somehow reverse direction in an instant and all the crew on board were not flattened like pancakes by gravity is wildly imaginative. Speaking of which, why is it every planet our heroes visit seems to have the same mass as earth with the same level of gravity?

Nobody, HBO, 9 out of 10. OK, I am an Odenkirk fan but this action film is great with him an unlikely action hero. I would like to see them make the origin story about how he became Nobody. This film does a good job of unfolding in layers and had me wondering how each new reveal fit into the overall story.

The time you invest in this is worth it if for only the bus fight.

When you hear them talk about the "inertial dampers", that's what keeps people on the ship from slamming into the walls when they stop or start, I believe. As for the ship not sustaining damage, I assume they just expect us to believe it's made of some type of incredibly strong alloy, or that the shields protected it. Star Trek does take a lot of liberties, but they also base a lot of their tech and discoveries on actual theoretical science.

I've seen the preview for that, and it does look pretty good.

I watched the sixth episode of The Book of Boba Fett and deviates from the main plot again, but with less action than last week. Hopefully the season finale is just packed with action next week.
If you're a fan of Luke's training on Dagobah in The Empire Strikes Back, you'll like this one. It ends in a dilemma...
CgINfcJ.gif

It is a false dilemma. Tarre Vizsla was a both a Mandalorian and a Jedi. Luke had attachments. Grogu's response...

But it did feature the live action introduction of another bounty hunter, the cause of Fett's helmet dent, Cad Bane...

For being the 6th episode of Boba Fett, the name character was barely in it. This makes two episodes in a row now. And I’m fine with that, these have been far and away the best of this series. I’m loving the world-building that Favreau and Feloni are doing.

I was blown away to see ‘young Luke’ and Grogu so much. I expected that once they left the Mandolorian that was the last we’d see of either. Very happy to be wrong about that.

It looks to me like they’re setting up their Star Wars television universe re-introducing characters like Cad Bane and Asoka.

I agree, the worldbuilding has been great in these Star Wars Disney+ shows. Hopefully when Star Wars movies eventually return, Favreau and Filoni are heavily involved in their development.

Absolutely! Not only are they creating great original characters, but they’re righting past wrongs done to several original iconic characters as well.

It was a very good episode, and...
They did a phenomenal job making Hamill look like a young Luke!

but...
I didn't like the obvious attempt to make the bounty hunter a Clint Eastwood ripoff.[spoiler/]

Funny story about those two items:

Rumor is that they hired a guy off of YouTube who did a deepfake upgrade if the CGI Luke they originally used in the Mandolorian.

As for the Clint Eastwood rip-off. He’s actually based on Lee Van Cleef from The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. Essentially a Western-style version of a galactic bounty Hunter. He was created and featured in the Clone Wars animated series.

He does kinda resemble Van Kleef, but his demeanor seems more like Clint, to me anyway. Really cool about the YouTube guy!

Just finished the first episode of Reacher. Pretty awesome that is what he should look like.

That opening scene really highlights how bad of a fit Tom Cruise was for the part.
