Obi-wan Kenobi is a perfect example of lazy, half-fast writing.

Instead of developing a clever storyline they just throw in a bunch of CGI and call it a day.

I’m still a few episodes behind on Star Trek.

As for the Kenobi episode:
I did like actually seeing Hayden Christensen’s face again.

But as for the thing with the Inquisitor? Hard pass for me on that. Are they trying to tell me a youngling who watched her friends and ‘family’ get slaughtered ends up working for the guy who did it?

All for one easily-foiled attack?

If that’s the case, I have even more reason to dislike the character and the acting.

Unless I missed something?
I don't think she's done yet. Obviously she doesn't kill Vader, but I think she'll end up playing a role in Ben's disappearance, at least.

Re: Obi-wan Kenobi:

I agree with you that somehow, some way, she’ll ‘survive’ being run through by Vader and show up again. The point is that I don’t care. Bad character, bad backstory and motivation, bad acting.

Whatever they thought they were doing with this character? They failed to do.

And even that CGI is sub-standard too. Anyone else notice how fake the starships are looking in this series? What happened? How is their quality getting worse?

God's Favorite Idiot, Nflx. The irony is this was written by an idiot and it is the guy that plays God's favorite one. Melissa McCarthy, who should have gotten the HC's job over her brother, is the only bright light in it. It is trying really hard to be The Office, P&R or Community but it's not working for me. The set ups for the gags are apparent and few work. The other thing missing from it is pacing. That was the magic of The Office and P&R, great pacing.

The Old Man - It's an FX series on Friday nights, but I'm watching on Hulu. I'm only through the first 3 minutes of e2, but I have to say, so far it's an excellent show. The actors they have portraying younger versions of Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow are excellent.

She's going to go try to kill young Luke for revenge against Vader. Kathleen Kennedy has the Midas touch, everything she touches turns to ****!

Seriously. I have no idea how she’s kept her job.

Because the business people in charge are interested in making money and the projects she has produced have done so, mostly. They weren't marginal profits, either. The trilogy along with Rogue One combined to pull in a massive amount of money. The Solo movie lost money, but at the time the people she hired to create the film were applauded. They had made good projects in the past. I definitely don't think the trilogy was good, but the board of whatever, whatever loves dollar signs. She is the one who hired Favreau and Filoni and gave them free range to create their Disney+ series. The work they have done is well received and she is the one who brought them in and stayed out of their way. That is her job. When those profits start to drop, then she will be in danger of being replaced. So far the money outweighs the negatives directed her way. Disney board members don't start reading message boards until the profits go down.

Filoni & Favreau weren't involved in the making of Obi-Wan.

Well, I realize I am about 2 decades late here (ouch, that was sobering to type out), but I decided to start watching The Wire. I have heard from a lot of people it's a great show. I am about 7 episodes in and I am enjoying it so far.

Sure, but they were involved with The Mandalorian and The Book of Bobba Fett snd Kennedy brought them in. There is some well deserved criticism that should be directed her way, but as long as the projects aren't all losing money, her job is not in jeopardy.

I like the mandalorian and bobba fett, but a the 6 episode obi wan was lame. The last episode ruined it.

The Boys S3, e6. I haven't even gotten past the opening disclaimer and I'm laughing my butt off. Don't skip it!

So, I decide to do a re-watch of Stanger Things to coincide with the release of the final 2 episodes of season 4 this Friday and am about halfway through season 3 and I realized really how stupid this is. I thought of just skipping the first season because Wynona Ryder is distractingly bad but went ahead anyway and sure enough, she was actually worse.

But here's my problem and I know the complaint about the age of the main actors by season 4 but even before I've gotten there I realize that while they have aged considerable through the first 3 seasons, the writers have them more progressively immature in each season. I don't know if they're trying to write them younger but it is poorly done and makes them look a little more uncomfortable in their roles.

The saving grace is it is a monster movie and the actors are there as nourishment for the monsters or as minions. Give me a good monster and I am good to go, several monsters and I am full of joy.

The other thing I noticed is just how much of a rip this is off Stephen King's "It". They added the international element to try and make the difference but this is "It" only they decided not to actually age the actors into adults but into younger children. I hope season 4 is better.

I now have no doubts, an investigation into the writers' room for The Boys must be made at once. And I must be invited if not to do anything but get them coffee.

"Hey, what's that out the window at the edge of the forest?"
"Why, that's the line that should not be crossed".
"Was it in this room at one time"?
"No, but it was too close so we had them move it to the edge of the forest".
