***Official Streaming Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and other streaming sites thread***

I just finished Last Samurai Standing. I didn't realize it was a 2 part series. When I saw it was a limited series I thought it was 6 episodes and done. I am looking forward to part 2 as well. I liked it overall. Kind of like Squid Game meets 47 Ronin. Some really good sword fighting scenes - some of the best I have scene. Shogun was fantastic so I would not compare Last Sam Standing to that, but LSS was still good.

I agree with you about Witcher. I think any series that gets to 4 seasons starts to falter and this one does as well. It's like the writers run out of new material. Or they just jump the shark in a hail Mary attempt to stir up interest again. Next season is the last and that's probably best for the show.

I am not sure I am going to take on Stranger Things. That's another series that IMO needs to be put down already. The kids are too old for that stuff now. At this point the studio is just milking the cow for more profits.
After Last samurai season there was no indication of them doing a second season or being approved for one. Just kind of figured it would be as it was clearly not finished.

I think this is the last season for Stranger Things.

I only watched 1 episode so far and it's the same rehashed stuff we saw the previous 2 seasons. They have the kids still in high school, and riding bikes, which at this point is bizarre. They are all in their 20s. Millie Bobby Brown, or Bongiovi, is only 21 but looks 31 on the show. Natalie Dyer is 28 and looks like she's in her 40s. Gaten Matarazzo is in his early 20s but also looks much older, even though he looks to be about 5'1" tall. I know I am being a little bit picky but I feel pretty strongly that this season is really unnecessary and is just profiteering at this point.

I am disappointed Netflix is releasing this season in 2 parts. 4 episodes now and 4 more in December. I think they are also holding back the season finale until Dec. 31. Apparently Netflix has decided to use this strategy rather than release 1 episode at a time like Prime does.

I think I will wait until January to watch the rest of this. It's just not than intriguing to me anymore.

Unneccessary? Have you watched the show? They still haven't defeated the villain, it ended in a failed attempt and the town having bad stuff happening. I'm pretty sure it was always suppose to be a five season show. The time it's taken them to do the five seasons has been the issue.

Tried to watch Andor Season 2 and realized I had forgotten too much from Season 1 which covered quite a bit of story. So rewatching Season 1, almost done, then will start Season 2. I love this show. This series and the solo movie it is related to are far and away my favorite Star Wars movies. Enjoy the espionage, politics and more adult theme.
Hear! Hear!

It is odd. Also odd that they’re trying to tie everything back to season 1, like Vecna had been there all along.

Star Wars for grownups!
I miss the mandalorian.
Guess gotta wait for the movie
Finished Season 2 and was a great watch! I read that they were originally going to do more seasons to tell the story but Disney ordered them to wrap it up in 2 seasons. Can't believe I'm going to say this, but good idea House of Mouse. it would have drawn on too long with more seasons, it was perfect in two seasons with the "one year laters' throughout.

This series and Mandalorian are better watches than any of the movies except for the originals. Been disappointed in the Disney Plus Marvel shows, but have enjoyed the Star Wars shows. I liked Obi-Wan as well.

It was perfect in my opinion as well, but I was left wanting more. Andor was SO much better than anything else Star Wars has done since the original trilogy. And infinitely better than most of the current stuff.

Obi-Wan was a real mixed bag for me. I liked the Hayden/Vader return, but much of the rest was cringe worthy.

Yeah...too much of the little girl in Obi Wan. I know Leia was a main part of the story but I think they should have went in a different direction with the series.

The Book of Boba Fett was similar.
Parts of it I liked.
Parts of it, the biker punks, were stupid.

The Skeleton Crew started out ok but went down hill
Ashoka was meh
I never finished the Acolyte so I do not know.

I think since the Solo movie did not do as well, I actually liked it but the lead actor just did not seem right for the part.

But I think it would interesting if they turned that into a series with different actors. His early adventures.

Fallout Season 2 on Prime Video will begin December 17th. As usual, and disappointing, Amazon will release 1 episode per week with the final episode dropping February 4th. I loved season 1, but I will wait until February 4th to begin binge watching the next season.

Amazon and Netflix have abandoned streaming their original series in favor of partial release and I hate it. I think even if we protest by not watching until all episodes are out they still get what they want which is to hang on to subscribers.

I liked Solo and not sure why people tore it up so much. Rogue One obviously the best of their single-shot films but heck, I like any single-shot Star Wars movie. Seems like trying to make trilogies just to make trilogies is always a cash grab and never comes out right. That last Star Wars trilogy was so horrible I couldn't even get through the third film.

Netflix is trying to by WB (HBO Max)

Probably my two favorite streamers. I'm sure it means less content overall with less competition which sucks. But I'm interested to see what Netflix can do with some of WB's properties. They have struggled at times.

This is not the cable side with Discovery, CNN, TNT etc. it's the film property side - DC, Harry Potter, Game Thrones, etc. Netflix is now as big as the House of Mouse. LOL

I remember seeing stuff on facebook and youtube for a year or two and just thought it was the fan/ai fake videos that have polluted both.
But then they confirmed it. The first two episodes is on now.

Same blood in parts, same amount of adult material.

Now it is not a spoiler since it is in the above trailer. The female is added to the group. This is for good reason initially but seems to be short sighted to make that a main story line instead of more of a side story line imo.

Oh and for those that watched the original series. Yes Ashur died in that one, but they make up a scenario where he is back from the dead that is kind of silly but it is what it is....also noticed he no longer has a limp like he used to have IIRC.

I doubt this will ever be as good as the original series. That series had better actors IMO. But if you liked the general tone of the original this one should be ok. Both are over the top unbelievable type action series so you got to go into it like that. I remember the first episode or two from the original series people were making fun of it and stuff because of the way they did the blood and some other stuff but started to like the series for other reasons.

I caught episode 1 last night. I watched the original Spartacus series a few years back. I don't really recall everything that happened. It's on Netflix now so maybe I will rewatch it.

In House of Ashur Lucy Lawless definitely does not look as good as she did in the original but I am not sue how big a part she will have.

I was shocked to see Claudia Black, of Farscape fame, with a role on this show. I would have thought the gore and adult content would have turned her off to this show, but with the Never being canceled I guess she was looking for work.

My initial impression is this is not going to be a very good show. It doesn't have the feel of the original. There were female gladiators in ancient Rome who fought other female gladiators so that concept is not that unrealistic. If she fights male gladiators it will deviate from actual history, but who knows? Maybe that happened too.

I think that was probably a one off for Lucy Lawless.
They needed to find a way to explain why Ashur was alive and took over the house/ludus of Batitus since he, ashur, was killed in that series.

So I started watching Gen V Season 2 more as a background show while I did something else. Really just to make sure I didn't miss anything important for the last season of The Boys. Glad I did, because it did start to become interesting and yes, there are a ton of tie-ins to the Boys now. I think every major character (that is still alive) made a cameo appearance somewhere. The beginning felt odd and made me wonder if the actor who played Andre (teen Magneto satire) wanted too much money since they suddenly cut him off. Didn't realize he died in a motorcycle accident right before shooting. RIP young man.

The wife and I started watching a show on Max called Body Cam: On the Scene. It’s exactly what it sounds like.....bodycam footage of intense police situations, with the involved officer(s) narrating what happened during that event. It’s really gripping. While I’ve always understood that being a police officer is dangerous, watching this show has given me a new perspective on the insane situations they face. We’ve seen so many episodes with people shooting at officers that it’s shocking there are that many reckless people out there. I completely get why they stay vigilant during every interaction, and I have a lot of respect for what they do and the challenges they deal with day to day.

Anyway, if you’re into that kind of thing, I’d definitely recommend the show.
