***Official Streaming Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and other streaming sites thread***

Was looking forward to a new netflix series Eternaut.

I tried to stick with it but it was just too slow and boring.

Just finished the last season of You on Netflix. It was a decent finale to a overall very good series. Season 4 was a bit of a misstep, but this one got it back on track. Penn Badgley's performance, especially the season finale, should get some Emmy buzz, for sure.

I just got around to watching House of the Dragon, season 2. It is certainly better than season one but I just do not think it is anywhere near as good as GoT first 4 seasons.

I was very disappointed with the final episode which was a letdown compared to the buildup towards to the expecting ending. I think the show relied too much on dragons flying around. I like how they the it into the period of GoT every now and then with flashes of the future, or events that explain some thing in GoT.

Part of the problem is the main characters don't really move the needle for me. I kind of see what maybe the writers want us to think about these characters, but it is not working for me. Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys. It changes back and forth but that doesn't help the viewers relate. Maybe it doesn't matter? There are no good guys or bad guys, just powerful people struggling to retain their power with all their human flaws?

HotD seems to have fallen into that trap of building up to a spectacular end. Season 2 leads up to an expectation of a spectacular beginning of season 3, but will we finally get the war of dragons they have been leading us to believe is inevitable? or will season 3 beginning by turning down the heat and then build it up again for season 4, which I believe is supposed to be the final season?

I admit after watching season 1 and the first episode of season 2, I was going to skip show. But I have run out of things to watch so I started it again. I am not disappointed, but I am on guard for disappointment.

Yes Season 2 was much better.

The last few episodes with the dragons and young Lord Tully scenes were the best and was building up to a great ending but they cut it a tad short but it left you wanting more which is what makes you want to tune in for the next season.

The thing about Game of Thrones is they didn't need cliffhanger endings and buildup for what was to come, at least not in the first few seasons. It always felt like there was a real story behind GoT. Which is why the last season and episode was such a disappointment to me. HotD seems to be a setup for something to come. The cliffhanger at the end of S2 is such a cliché ending, and an obvious lure to build interest in season 3 when it comes in a year or two, or three. It feels like they are leaving a trail of Reeses Pieces for viewers to follow for as long as they want us to follow. The expectations for season 4 are going to be extremely high, maybe too high for them to deliver.

The characters in GoT alone were worth watching. The characters in HotD are boring, IMO. There is nothing close to the relationship of Arya and the Hound, or Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth. There are no Ned Starks, Tyrion Lannisters, or even Bronn. The characters in HotD are so ordinary.

I agree with you about the scenes with Lord Tully. I Don't think we will see that developed much more than what we saw though.

The problem with the last season of GOT was 2 fold
George had not finished the last book and still has not yet...so he gave a basic outline but the writers did the script.
The other was they rushed it to finish it. I mean even if they did not make another season they should have at least made a few more episodes.

But you are right about the characters. You liked them, loved them and Hated them. Hell Joffrey, Cersie, Ramsey Bolton, Little Finger, Allister Thorne.

So many great bad guys. So far you might have One or Two in HOD and both of them are kind of one dimensional.

Finished Severance season 2 last night. What a great show. I really enjoy the concept. It’s definitely a slow burn overall, but it’s thought-provoking and really well done. Curious to see where they take things in season 3.
