And not to mention, children at that age mimick their parents. If the parents are huge Vick fans, talk about Vick and watch Vick, the child generally imitates the parents, their speech and their likes.

We're not talking cognitive knowledge, we're talking imitation knowledge.

And I know this is something that a lot of people don't like (particularly myself because I believe what Vick did is heinous) but in many urban, rural communities, dog fighting is a popular underground sport. A lot of black folks think Vick got shafted. I don't want to get into that discussion again. But, at least privately, Michael Vick isn't the pariah in some communities as he is in general society.

Exactly, you get it.

RoytheHammer. Just checked, no dingdong here.

First, apparently the kid is 3. Second, what is your response to gemini dolly's post then?

His neice calls Tony, "Tony RoRo". Do you actually think Choice's nephew says "Michael Vick is my brother."??

No, I dont think his nephew says this.

That is why I said Choice's story is pure BS.

And I'm sure a family based in the south with a relative on the Cowboys would spend a huge amount of time watching the Eagles and glorifying to their son the great dog killing QB on their most hated rival.

Someone who is 25 is doubting whether I have kids.

STHU junior.

And I'm not calling gemini a liar, I'm saying a dad who is a fan watching his favorite team every weak with his 3 year old is a completely different circumstance.

Do you know Tashards nephew or his parents? You realize Choice and Vick grew up in the south right? Couldn't be any connection to why relative's of Choice would watch and be fans of Vick when Choice himself said he has alot of respect for the man?

...and yes, i doubt you've had kids based on the fact that you don't seem to understand the way kids around that age can respond to things they see on tv or things that they become familiar with.

I think you may be taking Choice's comment too literally.

Either way, its ridiculous that this has created such a stir considering what all went down today. What Choice did is the least of our worries right now..

As opposed to your vast experience with he way kids around that age can respond to things they see on tv or things that they become familiar with, right?

Or at least what one poster said on the internets.....

And yes I'll PM you pics of my kid if you want to get even more stupid about this.

Do you have any idea if i have kids? Or if i dated someone for an extended time who had a child around the same age?

Or if i work with kids for a living?

...or maybe you just think im a "young whippersnapper".

Hmm...

Nope, I'm guessing.

But I think I'm right, or you wouldn't have latched on to gemini's post like a lifesaver. You could have easily backed it up with your own experiences if you had them, which you didn't bother to do.

Whippersnapper.

What can I add to this discussion that hasn't already been said? All I can say is I'm very disappointed in Choice's actions and his timing, as if he has no idea how important these games are to the very same fan base that ultimately pays his salary.

I saw a comment on DMN that summed up my feelings pretty well. Here it is:

"diehardmavsfan
12:50 AM on December 13, 2010

We have supported this team through a rough year. We just lost to our HATED rivals, and you are asking for an autograph on OUR field in front of YOUR fans. Outrageous and unforgiveable. I would fire you if I were the coach. BAD DECISION. Wait till you get in the locker room, you idiot."

Aside from the "idiot" part at the end, this sums up exactly how I feel about this situation. It isn't the fact that he asked for an autograph for his nephew, it's the timing of it all, and the complete disregard for his team and his fans. Dallas will be made into another punchline for the next few weeks about how our players are so bad they have to get autographs from the real football players when they come to visit. This will be a top story on every sports news channel and radio station by tomorrow, and it reflects very poorly on the organization as a whole.

Tashard Choice is from Atlanta. I a guy that grew up around him, his whole family is here and I wouldn't doubt the autograph story for a second.

:laugh2:

Actually if you look back again i was arguing something completely different than parental imitation most of the time. It just so happens that his post was actual evidence of some of the things that tyke and I were trying to say, so why wouldn't i reference it?

Anyway.. im getting sucked in to all the emotional outrage of this thread haha. We can agree to disagree. You feel that Tashard was lying about his nephew liking Vick and that's fine.

As i said, more important things to worry about with this team right now for sure. Gotta get back on track after this tough loss. We should have had this game if not for one or two huge plays. Still a solid effort for the majority of the game though.

Yep, in a season of awful this is just a blip. Just think it was a terrible decision by Choice even if he happens to have a 2 year old wonderkin nephew who is winning his pre-school fantasy football league.

Not that a big a deal, just calling BS where I think I see it.

I agree that no matter what the reason, the timing was horrible. Seems there should be alot better venues for something like this to take place.

Easy, guys. Tashard is going to get a lot of heat for this in the next few days.

Which means... He's going to need our prayers.

Tashard loves his little nephew. He calls him Bam and picks him up from daycare when he is in Atlanta during his off time from football.

I saw Tashard on "Off with Helmets" recently. He said when you ask Bam who plays for the Cowboys, he answers Tony Romo.

I understand him wanting to get the autograph for the little guy. I think it was thoughtful of him. I was watching right after the game when it happened. To be honest, I was so annoyed with DeSean Jackson that I didn't think much about it. I think the timing could've been better. And yes, you can get autographs before they catch a plane. There was a fan on here just last week with pictures that he got with several of the Cowboys players after the Colts game before they caught a plane back to Dallas.

I don't believe Vick is the best QB in the NFL. Tom Brady has a better rating than he does right now. And I think the 'Boys handled him pretty well. There were some 3 and outs, sacks and INTs. The thing with Vick is that there are some people that are really pulling for him because they think he got a raw deal with the prison sentence for the dog fighting. They see him as some kind of hero because he got out of prison and is making his comeback. Deion Sanders and his wife Pilar are on the Micheal Vick love boat big time. I don't dislike the guy, but he's an EAGLE! :suxiggle: I do not want to see them play in the Super Bowl in Cowboys Stadium!!

All will be forgotten with the autograph thing for me if the Cowboys beat them at home in a few weeks. :p:
