Before the game is time to be focused on the game... After the game is time to focus on the next line of thoughts in your mind. Seems pretty elementary to me...

Then why were Eli and Romo talking before the 2007 playoff game?

Why were Favre and Romo talking in warmups before we faced them in 2007?

When I go to a game, why do I always see Romo talking with the broadcasters at midfield?

They all talk to each other during warmups before they put the pads on. Choice should have done it then, since it wasn't an elaborate act. You know, it wasn't like he asked Vick to peel the wings of a tsetse fly or something. He didn't ask Vick to write the Old Testament on the glove.

How would signing an autograph during warmups before you put on the pads break one's concentration?

Michael Vick signs Cowboys RB's glove
By Tim MacMahon
ESPNDallas.com

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys running back Tashard Choice accomplished one goal Sunday night: He got Michael Vick's autograph.

Choice approached Vick after the Eagles' 30-27 win at Cowboys Stadium and asked him to sign a glove. Philadelphia's MVP candidate granted the request.

"That's probably the first time that's ever happened to me," Vick said of an opposing player's request after a game. "But [Choice] is a great guy. It doesn't surprise me."

Choice, who rushed for 16 yards on seven carries and had a 17-yard reception in the loss, said he has known Vick for years. They became acquainted when Choice attended Georgia Tech and Vick played for the Atlanta Falcons.

The autograph, according to Choice, was for a young family member who is a big fan of Vick.

"My little nephew says he's his brother," Choice said. "My little nephew is 2 years old, so I had to get one for him. I just admire somebody who comes from those circumstances and comes back and proves everybody wrong. I've got nothing but respect for him."

Linkage

So what is it...3 or 2 years old?

Why couldn't Choice do this before the game in the pre-game warmups when most of the players shoot the breeze?

Because he's not very bright, apparently.

First, apparently the kid is 3. Second, what is your response to gemini dolly's post then?

His neice calls Tony, "Tony RoRo". Do you actually think Choice's nephew says "Michael Vick is my brother."??

This is honestly a silly argument..

You sound like a fool. Honestly you do. Choice was quoted in the article as saying the child is 2. Also regardless of how crappy this childs parents are, and how much they yell and idolize Vick the child at this age can never appreciate an autograph of all things. Get him a bobble head doll. Or maybe a jersey or mini helmet. But an autograph on a glove?? Come on man use your brain at least a little. I have 2 kids. 1 almost 2 and the other 8 years old. The 8 year old has an IQ of 155 and even he couldnt get excited over an autograph at 2 or 3. For a child to run around and yell Vick Vick because his parents do is possible. But for a child to understand an autographed glove just isnt happening.

What kind of parents are these? Poor child.

Much ado about nothing...this goes on all the time, in all sports. Only fans who think players should hate each other the way they do give a darn, and only because fans care does the media care.

Silly...has nothing to do with the game or the competition.

This isnt just about fans being angry and wanting players to hate each other. This point keeps getting made for no reason. We as fans all understand that these players are not going to have a brawl in the middle of the field like the movie "Outsiders". We dont expect that......

What this is about is one of our players basically dropping to his knees and making himself look like a idiot in the middle of the field right after the game. We wouldnt care if Choice would have hugged Vick. But to come chasing him down from behind like a star struck 8 year old seeking an autograph was just a bad decision. You can attempt to dismiss it all you want. But look at how long this thread is. Look at the backlash. Call fans stupid for caring if you choose. But the response to his actions show that it was a stupid decision on his part. And his quotes after the game about how much respect he has for Vick ect just further pushes some fans away from him. You might also be a Vick fan. But you cant deny that he is a very very controversial person. Before the eagles signed him he was considering offers from Canadian football teams. Teams just didnt want the backlash from signing him after what he did.

That said. At least Choice wont have to answer too many questions about his terrible performance last night.

We all should care. Can you honestly imagine Randy White, Michael Irvin or Issaic Holt ever asking for an opponent's autograph after losing a game?

How do you know they didn't, because a TV camera didn't catch it?

Some people will hold the DOgfighting thing aganist Vick forever and will never forgive and that is their right. Not everybody should be held to the same Standards or think and feel the same way. If Choice and other people can look past that then fine.

Others may hate it because Vick is an Eagle and I do hate the Eagles, but NFL players still respect each other, even those who are on their rival teams. Choice respected Vick enough to ask for his autograph. Just because you as a Football player may hate each other Football wise, doesn't mean that the Hate translate to you needing to hate rival players personally.

After this season I have more concerns with some of this teams on the field play more then I do with what Choice did

My stock reply to any mention in any thread about the Choice incident: unimportant, irrelevant, and notice of it is a symptom of an unfortunate inability to focus on what is essential -- the performance of a player during the 60 minutes of game time.

Because his sweat would have ruined the autograph.

I am an old-timer, .. I didn't care for it when I saw Choice getting Vick's autograph.

But I also forgot about it immediately, .. until I checked the board this morning. LOL!

But after watching McCoy rush for 149 and Jackson (the puny little punk) get 210 receiving, I have more important things to concern myself about this morning than the "autograph".

And once again our defense couldn't stop them at the end, .. (Saints, .. Colts)

For those of you that say Lilly, Randy White, etc. would never do this, .. you are right.

But the landscape of sports has drastically changed since those gladiators played.

It is not like it was back then.

I have coached youth sports for 20 yrs, .. I recently saw a pitcher high five a player going around 2nd base that just hit a home-run off of him. I will tell you that would not have happened years ago.

So to see Choice asking for an autograph didn't set right with me, but I know things are different now. It doesn't mean what it did "back when".

As for it being for his 3 yr old nephew, I will say this, .. NFL football was so prevelant in our house that when my youngest son was 3, (now 27) he knew every NFL Team and the city they played in. You could ask him any NFL city and he could name the mascot. We never taught him that, he just picked it up on his own.

Ask him Kansas City?, he would say Chiefs, .. ask him Tampa Bay?, he would try to say Bucanneers. Buffalo?, .. Bills.

It was cool and funny, but it was also a little embarassing that he knew all of that but not all of his ABC's or numbers. LOL

I think TC is a good running back, I will leave it at that.

But I am concerned with our defense.

I'd cut him. See if we can get LaMichael James to come out a year early.

Chris Carter on Mike and Mike said he used to ask guys for autographs after the game.

If fans don't like it, fine. But saying Choice doesn't care about winning because he sought the autograph is ridiculous.

TC is an average running back, the Cowboys can do better.

I want him gone, yesterday.
