And you don't think everyone was playing for their job? You don't think players weren't playing hard?
I don't think that's what I said. In fact, I'm pretty sure I said just the opposite. Please don't put words into my mouth.
One team has to win. One team has to lose.
The Eagles are just a better team than the Cowboys. I just don't understand this mentality that thinks that if we try our hardest, we're never going to make mistakes, let teams score touchdowns or get beat on deep coverage.
Players make mistakes. That doesn't mean they're not trying hard. Maybe they're not focused on every play. But no player, not even Tom Brady, is focused on every play.
I just think we set ourselves up for these emotional letdowns when we have extreme expectations of our team.
There's still some ways to go to get this team in a position to compete for a championship. We're not there yet, no matter how hard we play. Some teams are just closer to that reality than we are.
We beat this team three times last year. I understand we are without a starting QB and I understand we are not in the playoffs. However, that really has nothing at all to do with the point. That's some stuff you came up with.
Philly came here looking to try and win at all costs. Had they lost, they would not be asking for autographs on the field after the game. It would not be the right message to send. I have no problem with somebody saying that we lost to a better team. I don't agree that it doesn't matter so long as we played hard.
