TC is an average running back,
wrong

the Cowboys can do better.
possibly, no guarantee

I want him gone, yesterday.
it is more complicated than that

Before we get rid of anybody, we have to make sure we can get someone better. We could do plenty worse than Choice.

This is probably a generational thing. I am older and I have to be honest and say that when my Son and I were sitting on the coach watching the end of the game, when we saw that, we looked at each other and both said, cut him. :laugh2:

Honestly, I didn't really like it but it is what it is. I can see why he did it. If anything, I think this spells out clearly what the difference is between Philly and our team. I seriously doubt that anybody on that Philadelphia Eagles team would have done that. They are serious about beating us, winning the division and competing for a championship. We, clearly, don't have that same kind of focus. That's a problem to me.

Well, we weren't in a position to do that before the Eagles game.

There is no question about that.

I can just imagine how much of a belly laugh philly fan got out of seeing that.

Even at my young age of 32, I guess I am old school to think that is way too soon to chum it up with the enemy...especially the Eagles, for cryin' out loud.

No, but we were in a position where each and every member of the team is and was playing for their job.

Meh. If anyone on their team had family from Eastern Illinois, I can see them asking Romo for a souvenir two weeks or so before Christmas. Why not take advantage of the connections the league lets you make? I just don't see what there is to be outraged about. Is it that we think TC is a secret Vick fan and that his nephew story is a dodge?

And you don't think everyone was playing for their job? You don't think players weren't playing hard?

One team has to win. One team has to lose.

The Eagles are just a better team than the Cowboys. I just don't understand this mentality that thinks that if we try our hardest, we're never going to make mistakes, let teams score touchdowns or get beat on deep coverage.

Players make mistakes. That doesn't mean they're not trying hard. Maybe they're not focused on every play. But no player, not even Tom Brady, is focused on every play.

I just think we set ourselves up for these emotional letdowns when we have extreme expectations of our team.

There's still some ways to go to get this team in a position to compete for a championship. We're not there yet, no matter how hard we play. Some teams are just closer to that reality than we are.

No, I don't see that. Hey, the Eagles lost three to us last year and I don't think I ever saw anybody asking anybody for autographs. That's just not something that I think would fly with Philly.

Tashard Choice will take much heat for securing Michael Vick's autograph after the Dallas Cowboys' loss to the Eagles Sunday night.

On Monday morning, the running back apologized to fans with this post on Twitter:

``If its anybody that cares about winning and the d cowboys its me. I apologize to the people it was just an innocent jesture for my nephew.''

Agreed. If we look at this realistically, just a few weeks ago noboyd would have even thought we could compete against a team like Philly, so how can it possibly be realistic to expect that as we stand today we should be an unstoppable juggernaut. We still have a lot of the flaws we have had all year, we are just doing a better job of overcoming them in order to be competative.

I need a little clarification, .. are the "outraged" mad that Choice wanted a players autograph from another team, or that he wanted 'dog killer', 'scum of the earth' Mike Vick's?

Which is it? Does it matter who it was?

Like I said in an earlier thread, I am old-school, and didn't like it when I saw it, ... but out-raged ??

I am over it.

I am out-raged that our defense sucks so bad and can't stop anybody when we need to.

Fine, maybe choice should have been a bit more discreet about it, but was it really a major thing?

I have to believe there were times Troy, Emmitt and Irvin were asked for autographs. Chris Carter said he sometimes asked for autographs after games.

Like I said before, the problem with it is really more in fan perception than it is with anything that matters regarding thet eam.

I don't think that's what I said. In fact, I'm pretty sure I said just the opposite. Please don't put words into my mouth.

We beat this team three times last year. I understand we are without a starting QB and I understand we are not in the playoffs. However, that really has nothing at all to do with the point. That's some stuff you came up with.

Philly came here looking to try and win at all costs. Had they lost, they would not be asking for autographs on the field after the game. It would not be the right message to send. I have no problem with somebody saying that we lost to a better team. I don't agree that it doesn't matter so long as we played hard.

Tons of players get gloves, shoes, jerseys, autographs, etc. from opposing players after games. It's just a game. There are some guys on these rival teams that really dislike each other, but there are just as many who are friends off the field.

They don't all have to automatically loathe each other as people because of who they play for.

As a fan, no, I don't really think it was huge. I do think that it CLEARLY illustrates the difference between Philly and us this year.

However, if I were the HC, it would make a big difference to me. To me, it does not reflect the attitude I think we, as a team, would need to have in order to beat Philly and win our division.

Don't you think it was a little soon?

I think if you are a member of a franchise that you should do a little research to find out what rivalries are all about.

I had friends on other teams as well. They realized that I did not wish to communicate on gameday. Talk to me during the week.

Times have definitely changed.

So now one thing that one player did after the game reflects the attitude of the entire team during the game?

I dont' get it.

I think what the players do prior to or during the game reflects attitude, .. but nothing they do after the game affects the outcome, .. that has already been decided.

I agree that we as fans probably won't like what TC did, but I also think some are "way" over-reacting and reading "way" more into this than necessary.

But this is a message board so I guess I'm not surprised.
