I have not met him, but I shared some e-mails with him and he is a man of honor. His son is an attorney in the town just south of me and he used to live in Tucson. I'd shake his hand and eat a meal with him any day.

I'd like to meet him one day, if not for NFL discussion for legal discussion with my future laid out. He seems like he'd be a great guy to grab a beer with.

This goes way back to 1996.

One can only wonder what NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue was thinking when he presented Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones the Vince Lombardi Trophy, after Dallas' 27-17 victory.

Only a few hours before Sunday's game, Tagliabue, on ABC's "This Week With David Brinkley," lashed out at Jones for his marketing deals.

"Jerry Jones dishonors the agreement he made when he came into the NFL partnership," Tagliabue said. "He takes what does not belong to him. The NFL is what we sell. It belongs to 30 teams, not the Dallas Cowboys."

Tagliabue went to war with Jerry another time over the Deon Sanders contract. According to Jerry Jones, Tagliabue told Jerry that he would take The Thanksgiving day game away, and Jerry would never see the Cowboys in a nationally televised game, again.

In "NFL private circles", it is well known that Tagliabue told certain owners, that Jerry Jones would never make it to another Super Bowl as long as he was commissioner."

Since Roger is Tagliabue's stepchild, I wonder if the feeling still stands?

So this is from 1996......hmmm

We havent won a playoff game since that year......hmmm

Coincidence or maybe not????

Yeah, what makes it so pathetic is Jones is the one most responsible for the record shattering revenues and profits the league and individual teams have made because of this. Almost every team complained about Jones' marketing deals, but inside 3 seasons almost all of them were doing it themselves. It was also Jones who pushed for the TV contract to move to FOX from CBS, which led to an enormous amount of revenue being pumped in. And Jones was one of the owners who supported Tagliabue as a replacement to Rozelle in 1989.
