I wouldn't trade Austin, but I would gladly trade RW back for a 1st or 2nd rounder.

yea a friend of mine, who isnt exactly a Cowboys fan, even told me

that Austin and Hurd should be our future at WR....they compliment each other as well

i still like Roy, i wanted him to be the leading WR when we got him, but Austin at age 24? and showing a big play side? i want him to be our number 1, with Roy as number 2, eventually of course, not right now

Roy Williams hasn't shown any signs that he is a #1 receiver with big play potential.

Honestly, I think at this point, you can say the Cowboys gave up too much to get Roy Williams.

As much as i love Austin, i am still not ready to give up on Roy...not yet

i want too see what he can do with a few deep balls 1 on 1...we all know Austin can burn his guy, and fight for the ball...i like to believe Roy can at least fight hard

either way they compliment each other...and with Austin possibly putting fear in D's, we may see more 1 on 1 opportunities with Roy and Witten

i can say this, if Miles does not start next week, and we have a hard time finding WR's open, or if Crayton sucks, he will get benched and moved back too slot

You guys are all buying into the "number 1, number 2" BS from the media and its driving you all crazy.

I'm just glad we've got a group of receivers that catch the football with their hands, not their pads or their gut, and that can make stuff happen.

Hell I'm hoping RW gets back for the next game and have him and Austin lined up as the starters and Crayton coming in as the slot WR. I think Crayton has done better in the slot than he has when he is lineup to the outside.

Completely agree.

I dont get this "bailing on Roy" before he gets a full season with Romo under his belt.

I believe if this team gets on track ROY will be a MAJOR part of that.

I, too am looking forward to Austin and Roy on field together as it appears that Austin experiment/project is working... will work.

That's no way to talk to someone who cost us all them draft picks and was expected to be the new T.O.

He is the new T.O. Slyly carping. Hunting for media attention. Just not as talented. A lot less smart. A lot less work ethic. And, an overpaid pain that needs to be traded.

Well, then, Williams is not a player.

Agreed. People on here are killing me with the Roy sucks, Roy's no good, blah blah, blah. One of the major reasons Miles had such a great game was that ROMO WAS ACCURATE ALMOST ALL DAY. His 14 incompletions were mostly due to at least 3-4 drops. Does you remember any of his throws looking like they were going to get picked?

If Roy was getting the same "quality" of throws that Romo made to everyone yesterday, a) his numbers would probably be a lot better - say 16-18 catches, and b) HE WOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN BLOWN UP TRYING TO MAKE A PLAY LAST WEEK. Everyone that is hating on him seems to be forgetting that the reason he didn't play is that he did something that T.O. probably wouldn't have tried to do and he payed the price for it.

I think Roy Williams can definitely contribute, I just don't think he was worth the draft pick we gave up to get him.

Miles Austin, if given the proper playing time, will have a better season than Roy Williams.

Michael Irvin is talking about Roy Williams right now. He wants to know why Miles Austin was targeted 15 times and Roy Williams has only been targeted a maxium of 7 times in 1 game.

He believes Miles Austin is doing a better job of getting open and Tony Romo is more comfortable with him.

Miles has one great game, and suddenly, he is a #1 WR.

Let's see him do this a couple of times before we annoint him.

Right. Kevin Williams had a 200 yard game as a Cowboy but I don't recall him accomplishing a heck of a lot in his career. Austin needs to be given more opportunities to produce before he's annointed as the #1 receiver.

What you might not see or understand is what is really driving fans crazy: The cost of getting RW here. RW has proved to be (when he plays) a marginal player. And for what? For waaay too much.
Crayfish and Austin cost us miminally and are giving their best. RW cost a lot and for what? Again, for way too much.

i see what he has and can do, if Crayton had a game like this...it would be nice, but i know the talent he is at the end of the day

Austin has number 1 WR talent

Crayton did have a day like that once:

2007 Rams at Cowboys

I totally agree, though. Austin has burst that no other receiver on the roster has.

I would like to see Austin start opposite Roy with Crayton in slot. In addition I would spell Crayton at times with Ogeltree.

But it would be nice to see a no huddle 4 WR, 1 TE set and see what the heck they can do

I think too much is made of so called #1 WR. WR lineup in a formation using X, Y, and Z and based on defensive alignment and personnel will help determine where the QB is going to go with the ball. They said Romo threw 15 times in the direction of Austin but that had to do with the defense KC was running. When KC would send a blitz and Austin had the single coverage with a single safety back Romo looked to throw the ball to him. If people want to argue about #1 WR have at it for me I’m only interested in the WR running the routs they need to be running and Romo looking over the defense to find the open man

Not when the Cowboys gave up what they did to get Roy Williams.

Roy Williams has to perform at a high level.

You’re talking the business end of the game. If you think we paid to much fine but he is now a member of the team and is still a big asset to the team. I would like to see him and Austin lined up together I think the 2 could combine for a very good WR core. There are a lot of players in the NFL where teams over paid for their service.

I gave tons of credit to TO for blocking down field and I think Roy Williams is better at it than TO was.
