You’re talking the business end of the game. If you think we paid to much fine but he is now a member of the team and is still a big asset to the team. I would like to see him and Austin lined up together I think the 2 could combine for a very good WR core. There are a lot of players in the NFL where teams over paid for their service.

Roy Williams has been mediocre at best. At this point, he is not been an asset to the team, given the fact that he was brought in here to be a playmaker and move the chains. There is no question Jerry Jones wants the Roy Williams that went to the Pro Bowl a few years ago, he hasn't got that Roy Williams yet.

Like you, I hope it all turns out well but right now, Roy Williams is not worth the picks we gave up.

Roy has been doing what he is asked to do and when the ball comes his way he has made the vast majority of the plays. We will see how this all plays out over the course of the season but I think this WR core with RW will be just fine. As I have said before I think a vast majority of players in the NFL are vastly overpaid.

Meanwhile Roy has played his heart out every game, blocked like a mother and done everything any coach would ever ask out of him.

We need to start Miles...he earned it. But we need to bench Crayton and make him #3 WR, not Roy.

YAKUZA

I agree 100% here. Roy has looked decent for the most part, a mis timed jump, a dropped TD pass, a bad route, but he has also made a couple nice catches, blocked well, and run some good routes. Uno Uno and Austin should make a good combination and if you need Crayton in the slot occasionally so be it but I'd like to see Austin get another opportunity as well.

I think you are overpaid.
These NFL players are paid a lot for a couple of reasons.
They make their teams and the NFL a lot of money.
TV pays a lot of money to the NFL, again the money connection.
NFL players have only an 8 or so years of playing time, many less, before they retire.
These players exert more calories in one hour of practice then you probably do in a week, soft boy.
I don't have a beef with the money Roy got. Didn't come out of my pocket.
I do have a beef with what we gave up for him in draft picks. And that he might be starting when Austin should be.

I understand why players are paid what they are paid. I still think what athletes in general are paid is ridicules but it is what it is and I don't begrudge any player making the money however I don't cry over some guy claiming to be under paid either.

I don't really care much for the business side of sports which may explain why I can get enjoyment out of watching Pro, college or high school sports. It is the game I love not the whinny millionaire

I played High school and college for free and loved every second of it.

I think the big issue with RW has not been his blocking or dropping catchable balls. The problem seems to be that he can't get much separation from CBs and he doesn't seem to have the toughness that let Keyshawn be successful despite this limitation.

The only reason that any of us care that RW has been overpaid is the salary cap. Him getting paid like a superstar to deliver #3 WR type production is a hindrance to the Cowboys ability to build a talented roster (like signing a good FS or Flo's replacement if Free isn't the answer or finding a #1 WR).

Unfortunately, Pro Sports is a business and poor business decisions can be the demise of any organization.

Compared to what we gave up to get Roy Williams, I think it is fair to say, right now, it wasn't a great investment. This doesn't mean that Roy Williams won't have great season, it just means, right now, I don't believe we are getting equal value for what we gave up.

Agreed.

Also, you have to wonder what kind of players we could have gotten with the picks we gave up.

Fortunately, this thing can be evaluated on a week to week basis and nothing is set in stone as Roy Williams may prove to a very good player for us.

He is the new T.O. Slyly carping. Hunting for media attention. Just not as talented. A lot less smart. A lot less work ethic. And, an overpaid pain that needs to be traded.

idk about the toughness part, but i agree he gets little to no separation, and i hate seeing that
