I perfer Rice... too many ? on McFadden

You mean like how many TDs he will score or how many 100 yard games hell have a season?

its would be one thing if he would actually miss a game but assuming a player is injury prone is silly when hes not getting injured especially with how much he is abused consdering they have Jones who is pretty good too.

McFadden is definitely the best back in college football

but the 2nd best back might be the guy that backs him up, Felix Jones

if he comes out he's gonna go pretty high as well...I like Slaton from WVU and the Davis kid from Clemson too...Rice looks like a late 1st/early 2nd rd type talent to me...eh may be good, but I dont see him as a better laternative than MBII, who is already hear and tearing it up

I would rather have Rice with one pick than spend 2 on McFadden.

But if we could get McFadden with one pick ..... thats a no brainer.

it depends...honestly if Rice is a condieration, Id rather just sign MBIII long term and go with him...he is already here and playing extremely well...I dont see Rice being better than he is

McFadden on the other hand is one of those once every 5-6yr type talents at RB...

what questions would that be?

Rice is not 1/2 the talent McFadden is, nor does he face anywhere near the same kind of competition

I'm not that impressed with Rice or Slaton, honestly... Though they might work as part time players combining with Barber.

If we aren't picking high enough to get McFadden, I'd like to go after Michael Turner -- assuming he doesn't cost too much, of course. We could then use those high picks on whatever else we need.

mcheisman is big, strong ,fast, great hands, and can block. he is also a very dangerous return guy and can throw the ball. he is a powerful runner who breaks lots of tackles.
i would not trade up for a rb, but if mcfadden is there when we pick we would be crazy to pass on a guy with his skills.
i think he is better than ap was this year and he is a dang good player.
of course thats assuming we even go rb. we have depth problems at cb and i'm not sure we have ot settled yet.
i think we have to get a solid cb in this draft.we may very well need a quality ot if mcq ain't gonna be able to start next year. i think free will be a good player but we could loose both lt's after this year so who knows

Ugh. Every time someone mentions Turner I want to hit myself with a bat. He's simply not that good.

MBIII >>>>>>>>>>>> Turner

and it isnt even close

no way do I pay for Turner instead of extending Barber

hell I'd keep JuJo over Turner and not think twice about that

I didn't say anything about getting rid of Barber...

I'm not building Turner up into some kind of megastar, but I think he's pretty good. That's from watching him play, not from his stats. What don't you guys like about him?

My main point was that I don't think Rice or Slaton are even close to McFadden, and are not feature back material. So I wouldn't be reaching for them if we can't get McFadden, as some seem to suggest.

We will probably let JJ walk, and have to sign Barber to a very nice contract. Then pay McFadden a boat load, we'll have a very very rich running back situation.

I don't think Barber has any intention of staying here. You don't hire Drew Rosenhaus for nothing.

I'm thinking productive backs can be found anywhere in the first day... especially for this offense. We desperately need another corner and perhaps a wide receiver.

I think you hire him because you're expecting a big payday, not necessarily that you're leaving. Why would he leave as long as we pay him well?

Not as a backup, that's for sure. He'll either be our feature back, or he'll be gone. And it makes me sad. :(

If the coaches viewed him as a starter, he'd be starting right now. He's done everything possible within his powers to convince them. If he ain't starting, he won't be here.

There's no chance we let a young player like Marion Barber walk in favor of a player that's not even on the roster yet. There's some combination of money and playing time that will get a deal done. Dallas is too good a situation right now to walk away from if they're genuinely trying to keep you.

Barber has not been here that long. Westbrook was not the starter in Philly when Duce was there. Once Duce was traded Westbrook became the starter and Buckhalter works behind him and there are other examples to say Barber can never be a starter because he is not 1 right not is false. Already Barber role has increased in Dallas

I'm not saying he can't be the starter.

And by the way, Westbrook won the starting job away from Duce in his 2nd season in Philadelphia, while Duce was there.

I'm with Dooms and Idgit. One, as has been said a billion times, Barber is playing just as much as Julius even if he isn't in on the first play of the game. That indicates that the coaches do think he's starting material. And two, I think we'll want to drop Julius and keep Barber.

Of course we'll drop Julius and Keep Barber. One is an UFA and the other isn't.

And yes, Barber is getting more playing time than last season, but he's still not starting.
