Because Dallas has certain restrictions on who and how many players we can sign in free agency, we have an opportunity to sign one player with a base salary of $5.5 million or more I believe. So here are a list of players I'm hoping we're interested in, and you guys can list anyone you want:

CAR LB Thomas Davis

CLE LB D'Qwell Jackson

DEN WR Brandon Marshall

HOU LB DeMeco Ryans

IND S Antoine Bethea

KC LB Derrick Johnson

NE K Stephen Gostkowski

NO G Jahri Evans
- Here's my pick. He's actually a very solid player. Having Kosier as the backup, swing guard isn't a bad situation at all. Having Evans would allow us to trade and release Colombo, keep Flozell for another year or two, move Free to RT and draft an OT in the 1st round to eventually replace Flozell. Even Free could move to LT eventually and if our 1st round OT doesn't pan out at LT, we can always move him to RT.

OAK LB Thomas Howard

SD OT Marcus McNeil

TB OT Donald Penn

EDIT: I understand some if not all of these players are restricted free agents. I'm almost positive Jahri Evans is, so it depends on the tender NO places on him.

To be honest, I dont think we're going to have a BIG free agent signing.

It's just my opinion, but I think those who believe we ARE going to get one are going to be disappointed.

We don't need one either. We need a solid draft, and we're going to be looking pretty good.

We get a draft like 08 again, and we're in strong contention for a Super Bowl for the next five years.

Drafting well is always important, but we're in contention for the next several years, regardless. Thank God.

I think we need to make adjustments on our offensive line, and we need one or two more catalytic players on defense.

Don't we tend to pass on FA's after missing on a costly one for a couple of years?

All those are RFA's. Zero perfect chance they hit the market.

Depending on the tenders, we would have to give up picks to sign one of those guys.

I would rather keep our picks myself, the best teams are built through the draft anyways. Let the Skins win the offseason SB like they always do.

from that list i'd take d'qwell jackson but thats just because he's a favourite player of mine. their are bigger areas of need but from a purely selfish standpoint i'd take jackson

RFA's are expensive in picks. You really have to want the guy and really need him. Pass.

I agree. I don't think we'll make any BIG FA signing, maybe a few less glittery ones to fill in the roster. We will concentrate more on the draft and building that way. This is a good team that doesn't need a lot of tweaking, just some spots.

We are not the Commanders. We do not seek off season championships with big splash savior Free Agents.

Yeah, you know some people here on this board don't want to believe this but we are a pretty solid team.

Only FA I'm concerned with Dallas signing some of our own. I don't expect Dallas to do much in the FA market

I looked at the list of UFA that the Sporting News compiled. If the year is uncapped - which is looking fairly certain at this point - the only position that is deep in UFA is D-Line - Seymour/Peppers at end and Wilfork/Hampton at NT. I wonder if we might entertain signing Seymour, which would mean we would have to trade Spears, I guess. I don't see us making a big splash in UFA. We might sign a Brooking or Sensabaugh level UFA, though.

I'm with the "no FA signing" contingent. I think Jerry will use his money to re-sign his own players, like Spears. The players already on the team look like better fits for the system (since they're already doing well in it and understand it) than any available FA anyway.

I disagree just alittle, granted we dont need as many free agents like we signed last year with Brooking, Igor and Sensabaugh, but we in my opinion need just one free agent. Somewhere along the lines like Brooking was to our defense but the top free agent will be on offense hopefully. To fire up our offense as Brooking has fired up our defense.

Doesnt matter who the player is, he can be a guard, OT, impact punt/kickoff returner or heck even a good kicker if one is around, but a top nasty very hungry player that wants to win the superbowl.

Why do i say this, think about 1970 and 1992, the cowboys were close to winning big time, but they needed a push from a veteran player or 2. What happened after 1970 may you ask? The cowboys added herb adderly in 1970, and he told them, I am going to show you dallas cowboys players why you arent winning the big game or getting there. Adderly helped the cowboys get to the superbowl in 1970 and 1971. If you remember adderly, no other player has ever accomplished his feat of going to 4 superbowls with winning 3 of them. Then in 1992, the cowboys traded for charles haley and thomas everett, even Troy Aikman said they really had no idea of what it took to get to the big championship game and win, till Charles Haley came to the Cowboys.

This is what I think the Cowboys need, they are very close, just need a push of a championship superbowl winner of knowing what it takes and wants to win again.

You are missing the words BIG NAME in front of the words FREE AGENT. I don't mind if we sign Free Agents to fill gaps. I don't want big name guys who think they are the difference.
