Olawale

If it was one pass then blaming the FB would be reasonable. He should be able to help his QB out. But Dak throws a lot of passes that are off target enough that the receiver has to leap to stretch behind him of dive into the turf. He has to make it easier on them too. Dak's inaccuracy cannot be denied. He threw a few bad ones today that contributed to the lack of points. But I think the sacks and offensive holding was a bigger problem.

Great play call to go his way when he hasn’t played. Set the tone early with stupidity
when opportunity comes you cash in..... he is supposed to be good receiver out of back field....and the TE was wide open in the back of the end zone and would have had a easier time to catch.....instead of having the players twist side ways to make a catch.... Dak missed the TE in the back of the end zone.

They had Zeke and one yard to go to get a first and goal. I get the O-Line was hurt, but they could've punched it to first and goal with two runs.

So, yeah, I think a dump to a seldom used FB over riding your guy leading the league in rushing wasn't the best call.
they did try to run with zeke and lost 3 yards.....

Running away from the strength of the line. Even the announcers as bad as they were saw that they'd tried misdirection and it didn't work. Maybe they'd have tried the power game if Martin had been in and healthy. Linehan obviously didn't trust that they could punch it in by just lining up and winning with power. I guess that's what happens when you have an undersized guy like Williams and a backup at your guard spots.

It's all academic anyway. I don't think the Cowboys win even even with a TD on that drive.

Would've been nice to avoid the shutout though.

Whats ironic is he's actually a very good pass catching FB. How he completely missed the ball is shocking.

I went back and watched it and now I do swing back a little. Olawale mistimed it and did look like he expected it sooner. If he kept his arms open maybe he has to fall to the ground to make the catch and might not score but we would have had a first down at the 1. So I say equal fault because that catch did not need to be the chore that it was.

All Olawale had to do, was extend his arms fully.

The fact that he was kept as our FB due to his supposed pass catching ability, means he has to catch a pass like that. Because he doesn’t block well enough to make up for not catching balls like that.

When other teams have backup offensive and defensive linemen running in and catching goal-line TD passes , I'd say a fullback who can't catch is as worthwhile as used toilet paper.....................

What are you talking about? I want Scott fired as much as anyone but that play call was perfect. There were not one but two people open for a pitch and catch. The ball was a bit low but still right in front of the guy Dak picked. That guy just didn't even touch it.

Fire Scott by all means but you can't blame him for that FB sucking. Good play call.

he was running sideways/back he couldn't dive for that under thrown awful pass

Under thrown and awful pass. The man closed his hands before the ball got there. Blaming Dak for that is ridiculous. Every pass is not going to be perfect. He should have caught the ball.

the announcers it was a mid direction. the strength was designed to go left with pulling guard and tackle. but the DT broke through the line at the LGA and disrupted the play. it was a good defensive play.

I agree it wouldn't have mattered.....

It wasn’t a perfect pass. But it still should have been a relatively easy catch. No excuse to not catch it. He didn’t even extend his arms all the way. He short armed it.

It was a terrible play by Olawale.
This. Not every pass needs to be perfect. At times you just need to give the guy an easy shot rather than risk overthrowing it.

The pass wasn't perfect but any NFL player should make that catch 99% of the time. People putting this on Dak even a little bit are idiots.

Great play call , not a good pass , but an absolutely godawful and unforgivable attempt to catch the damn ball................................

You all have a point. With the injuries to the line I can see why not going for power could be a problem.

It's easy to second guess when a play doesn't work.

Man, it actually looked to Me like it was straight outta' the faded memories Of trying to teach yer' three year old set of twin nephews how to catch a whiffle ball from 5 foot away,,, on how he'd clapped his hands together 2' off to the right as the ball went past,,,

*:lmao2: that deflected ball bouncing off the #11's CASING-LINER is a story for a later date:lmao:

Beasley needs to nicknamed "Buckethead" after that hilarious and absurd episode............................

Not every pass can be perfect, but from 5 yards away? So Dak wasn't even a little bit to fault for not leading the receiver? Idiot, you say?

It was a piss poor pass, ya get tired of seeing them. I could've made that pass with a beer in my hand..

I liked his acquisition but it was equivalent to drafting a tight end with Witten on the team. You aren't going to do anything with him. I thought he'd be more of a safety net for Olawale.

That’s moronic.

If all a QB needs to do is give his reciever a chance we’d all be QBs.

You’ve got a reciever running away from you with nothing in front of him and you throw it short.

That’s inexcusable.
