Yes, well it was a small female. Not much more than 125lbs. Black bear make nice table fare and she was no exception. I have knocked down a few black bears...well years ago. Good eating...in fact, much better than dry venison. I used an Ithaca .22 lever. Nice little toy rifle. Great for a kid to start out with.

Yep. Knocked down a lot of deer with that rifle. You hunt Loci? I had a lot of shotguns...410..12..16 and 20 gauges. Enjoyed Ruffed Grouse,Rabbit and pheasant when l could find them and ducks and Geese too. Shot a black bear once with a .22!! If its brown its down...if it flies it dies..
