Ultimately I think its going to be Tyron at LT, Steele at RT and Tyler at LG. Steele appears as if he will be ready for TC
I think this gets the BEST guys out there and doesn’t keep any on the bench. Theres also good position flex. I think if we get lucky and Tyron stays healthy for the most part, Tyler gets a whole camp at guard, and steele gets a good camp, that will be a powerful line.

When asked if the Cowboys need to sign a guard, Stephen was quick to point out, "we've got a guard" referring to newly-signed veteran Chuma Edoga, who has experience playing both tackle and guard. "We feel good about him," Jones added.

OT
Earlier in the day, Jerry Jones said he views Terence Steele as a swing tackle for now. When asked to Stephen, he had a vague answer, stating "I think it's the five-best guys. At the end of the day. Mike's always preached that you know. It's early. We got a new offensive line coach. He gets them out there and gets his hands on em and sees what they can do. We'll figure out what are the best five guys and what makes us the best football team for 17 games plus hopefully the playoffs."
Jerry is always looking at the cap and money, so he's thinking put steel at Swing Tackle and then next year we pay him peanuts to stay and let Tyron Smith leave.

Anything that takes a healthy Terrence out of the starting lineup is looney to me. Tyler should be your LT unless there is an overwhelming need for him to play G.

Not sure why folks are so bent on forcing Tyron into the starting lineup in March.

Seeing how Larry Allen was a 2nd round pick, they could wait until then.
Considering LA came from a tiny school that no longer has a football program and where the prospects being discussed come from, that pretty much can be described as not applicable.

The OL stacks up pretty well this year compared to last, Neal from last year would top the list this year but there are two more players this year with starter grades than last. If you wanted to wait Andrew Vorhees could be good value later if he fell.
6.76 Evan Neal
6.73 Peter Skoronski could play OG
6.73 Ikem Ekwonu
6.7 Tyler Linderbaum
6.55 Kenyon Green

6.44 Broderick Jones
6.44 Charles Cross
6.41 John Michael Schmitz G/C
6.4 Trevor Penning
6.39 Matthew BergeronG/T
6.39 Paris Johnson
6.39 Bernhard Raimann
6.38Darnell Wright
6.38O'Cyrus Torrence
6.36 Cody Mauch G/T
6.35 Joe Tippmann G/C
6.34 Zion Johnson
6.33 Tyler Smith

6.32 Dawand Jones

I have the feeling that Edoga is a typical, serviceable vet that the Cowboys hope to upgrade in the draft, but could start in a pinch.

I think our 2023 Oline will look like this:

OT: Smith, Smith, Steele, Waletzko
OG: Martin, Draft pick, Edoga, Farniok
C: Biadasz, Farniok

Depending on the pick, this could be a pretty good, deep line.
Agreed. He's the placeholder. If the draft falls in a way that a guard doesn't get picked in the top two rounds, then Edoga can start if a third- or fourth-rounder isn't ready.

For whatever it's worth (not much to me), we are a bargain placeholder team in free agency. Edoga and Ronald Jones fall into that category. Would think if we can't get Hankins for cheap, we'll sign someone like Watkins again to be the NT placeholder.

Based on quite a few mocks........we can get 1 of the top 2-3 guards at 58
Most interesting draft thing for me, are they looking at their cap down the road or do they want to field the best team to win a championship now? Clearly they have several big extensions forthcoming, you would think they want new starters the both Edge/Corner in 2024 so they can get out of two big deals to pay others. They can grab a RB, TE/WR, OL with their top picks and field a win now team.

The signed a backup at guard. Not sure your point here.

IF its a first round pick guard then its EXACTLY what this team needs and the Oline has a shot to make a big difference.

At OT in the NFL he is known as a plus run blocker that had some issues in pass blocking.

Moving a player from OT to OG normally improves his pass blocking (Nate Newton, etc..).
Hes your typical journeyman backup flex guy that the Cowboys like. He played 3 games last year in a pinch of the Falcons and started his career for the Jets starting a bunch of games. He was part of the problem with the Oline there and had him replaced with better talent.

I don’t see why you’re so high on Avila, when to draft magazines have him raided much lower. One magazine has him at seventh best and 4th round and the other has him at eighth best and the 3rd round.

Ocyrus Torrence is the best rated in both magazines. Andrew Vorhees is the second best rated in both magazines. John Schmitz is the 3rd rated in both magazines.

My favorite is the guard from Alabama. Emil Ekiyor Jr. 6’ 3 and 324 lbs. but if Torrance, is there an hour pick who 6’5 347 you got to take him.
Torrence is the dream scenario at 26 or Mayer the TE from ND.

I bet they Keep Biadasz. If he plays well again and they can resign him for what Mcgovern just got they should do it.

I'm not sure Jerry and Stephen think this far ahead as far as replacing players. It appears they worry about replacing a starter when he's no longer on the team. Not looking at his contract and saying we may replace him a year or two from now. Howie Roseman .....yes but not Jerry and Stephen.

He is probably a better OG than Farniok. Farniok is probably playable at OG against half of the NFL, but I dont think you want in the lineup against top tier interior defensive lines. He is probably best as your #4 OG than can play all three interior spots. Edoga is probably a better start at either G spot of you have an injury
I agree. His system familiarity makes him valuable but his strength ceiling is what it is. He cannot anchor Cox or Payne.
