I challenge anyone to name the holders on five other NFL teams.

Holding isn't something that just anyone can do. Like any other skill it requires tons of practice to perfect.

People are saying that you don't use the starting QB. The only reason they typically don't is most starting QBs don't have experience, not holding in college and very few were low expectation backups for several years like Romo.

Holding is also one of the safest positions on the field. Somebody name how many holders have been injured over the years.
This could be a thread unto itself.

I can't name even one.

I'm pro-Romo-holding. We've got to do something to fix the FG team, but it's more than just the risk of injury in play here. Now Romo's spending time in ST meetings that he'd otherwise be spending on offense. The new responsibility cuts into his preparation time for his day job, which sucks.

Romo's a gym rat. I'm sure he's the type to stay after practice to hold if he has to.

As far as missing other important meeting times and offensive practice, the meetings are scheduled at different times because there are other starters on the kicking team.

I'd be more interested in how many people could name the 11 Cowboys who run out onto the field for an extra point or field goal without looking it up.

I'm just happy Dallas addressed the real problem. Washington had a questionable hold and Suisham missed a gimme against NO. They cut Suisham to placate the fans, then they signed Gano who really, really struggled making the transition from college.

Is Nick Folk a good blocker? :)

He's certainly bigger than marteen was. 4-1 at the 2 another foot, its a first down, another yard its a td. Folk gives him that extra half step to get the one foot.

And what will you have to say if he doesn't miss another one for the rest of the season?

I will say Folk is doing his dam job.

I will also say that we need to fire our Special Teams coach for not realizing what the problem was unitl freaking December.
