Wait now I'm confused. If it's 4th and 8 with a 5 step drop and the quarterback throws a 12 yard completion is it a first down or no? Or would that 12 yard completion really be a 17 yard completion? What if we got a 3 foot tall quartback, his 5 steps drops couldn't possibly be 5 yards and that would shorten the field wouldn't it? Maybe then we'd only need 11 yards instead of 13 yards on 4th and 8.

Midget QB.

Never thought of that.

****ing brilliant, man. ****ing brilliant.

Garrett can't mix things up effectively and his passing game is a joke... Thank Romo he can keep plays alive with his feet...

Do you know what this thread reminds me of?

Go back 25-33 years ago, when primarily Danny White (Staubach too) would pitch the ball to Dorsett on his end arounds.

What drove me crazy on those is that Dorsett is about 5-7 yards behind the LOS before he can gain any yards. Not so much in the Staubach era, but in the Danny White era, Tony would lose yardage on those pitches.

Since then, I have never been a fan of paying for the same real estate twice. The shotgun formation does that. I feel it is too risky to hand off many times in that formation.

So I do see Quarterback Coach's frustration.

Oh yeah. One other point.

If Dallas wins on Thanksgiving over Oakland, then Tony Romo will be 35-15 in his first 50 games. That is 70% folks - and Garrett has been the offensive coordinator for most of those.

Don't you think he has done something right? After all, this is better than the Quincy Carter era.

You are missing the point. He can't win because he is not good. He does not know how to run the football correctly.
I think you're being sarcastic, but that is the truth. You can't run delays on 3rd or 4th and short b/c the dline is trying to shoot gaps and penetrate. There is a reason that the only offense in all of football who consistently goes shotgun in running situations is coached by JG...

Its like he learned nothing. He came out and OVER ran it we were getting like 6-8 yard chunks per run play. Then on a 4 and 2 we pass LOL.

Didn't we run the ball to Barber the play before and lose a yard? I swear Garrett has no chance with some people.

So we ran the ball and it lost a yard so you want to do it again? What play would you have called?

not the Shotgun draw. the defense is looking for that since that's what our predictable OC runs on 3rd and short. either that or the quick out to Witten like they tried on the 4th down play. how bout a slant or a run out of a running formation?

After pathetically lousy effort to beat what amounted to a scab Commander team, you clowns are complaining about the offensive coordinator when we ran the ball 33 times and passed 27. Forget the fact that all those wonderful running plays netted us exactly ZERO points.

The OP is crying about a run call on short yardage, didnt that same play work for big yards on several other plays?

Romo played awful, absolutely awful until that last series. While our defense did only yield two fg's, it was only because a guy who had been perfect this yr missed two, one was a gimmee. Our defense played like crap IMO. Jason Campbell completed PASS AFTER PASS on 3rd down. I think the final total was 12/12 or 13/13 on 3rd down. We had very little pass rush after the first quarter against a team with absolutely zero OL. Our OL though managed to play inconsistent despite the Skins missing their best player. We missed tons of tackles.

I have zero doubt the defense would have blown the game if not for Bowen deflecting that pass that Spencer came up with.

It was a horrendous display of football all the way around. To cry and complain about the offensive coordinator when he turns around and does what you boneheads had been crying for is assinine. I absolutely called this too.

There's alot of problems on this team. It isnt one or two people. Its a TON. To think otherwise is totally ignoring the obvious.
