anything else to make you happy now?

You'll have to excuse TwoDeep. He's "old school".

See last year he did bring up that the pre-season penalties bothered him and some of us told him in passing that he was over-reacting.

Now , he constantly brings that up in an effort to show that he was right and acts as though some sort of crucifixion went on. Nobody paid much attention to it then but he was almost gleeful with every penalty...

He wears those self-perceived "scars" with a great deal of pride.

well, i just think it's funny it went from me saying we all have things we hate *at times* but those who only hate are annoying to my saying any negative statement makes you a hater, to i'm the superior acting one when in the end, he can't just go "oops, my bad" and move on.

he misfires and it's still my fault.

whatever.

I think finding positives and appreciating the team for certain things is an indication that we have lost too much and that we are becoming Skins, Eagles and similar types of fans. Our standard should always be measured by Super Bowls and I detest how our teams has been playing. I am negative but it doesn't stop me from watching the games, attending camp (coming from DC) and biting my hand off every time it's 4th quarter crunch time. I respect the post but I feel it's talk that should be reserved for franchises I already mentioned above. It's OK to criticize the team severely even. We know why the criticism is coming...... it comes from loving the STAR baby.

I think people get to black and white with their views. Around here a player is great or he sucks no in between. On one thread I did not agree with a poster that Spencers was playing great this does not mean I think Spencer is a bad player just a player that he has some work to do so that he does reach the loafty expectation many of us had when he was drafted in rd 1. Same with Romo when looking at his play and looking at other QB's in the NFL I think we are pretty fortunate to have a player like Romo that does not mean I don't think he is without flaws that need to be improved so that this team has a better chance of reaching the next level. Things are not alway black and white

this is how i see it. i was talking a lot about the middle ground and how we can all go off on our tangents at times and that's fine. but when someone is ONLY posting negative after negative after negative, it gets old. twodeep replies asking me how come every little comment makes you a hater -

so NOT what i said, so he took what i said and put it in the extreme because it really does seem that's the only way many people can deal with it.

black white.

0 or 1.

that gets old too and i just have to find people that *don't* do that and spend more time talking to them.

I agree to an extent. Spencer is a great example. He's not a star but he's not a bust either.

But then again there are some who want to find a middle ground on everything even if it is black and white. For instance, in the three years he's been in the league there is no gray when it comes to Bobby Carpenter. There was no gray when it came to Brad Johnson last year. And there's been very little gray the last 15 years when it comes to Jerry.

I agree there are some like Bobby Carpenter that is becoming more black and white or Brad Johnson but when I see guys like Romo and Spencer being lumped in with them it makes me shake my head at those making these statements.

Interesting comments. So any discourse that points out where the team might need to step up is hate?

Basically, yes according to some people.

Nobody that posts here hates the team. That's idiotic. They might hate the circumstances or the situation, but nobody hates the team outside of trolls. Nor should they be required to throw their undying support at those who aren't achieving. Yes, we are a spoiled spoiled bunch. Big deal. My answer to that is go be a Bengals fan and keep your low standards.

Anyone who has been a fan of this team through three or four decades simply can't be a blind homer if they appreciate any of the successes we enjoyed from the 1960s-1990s. That's where the standard (okay, being spoiled if you want to get nasty about it) comes from.

For some newer fans, it is clear the dog days of Campo are dismissed too easily, while the strides back to respectability we made under Parcells are met with too little appreciation. The 5-11 era should be one of shame, not a reason to look at 9-7 now and be appreciative or treasure a 13-3 one and done like we had in 2007. Teams like Dallas, Oakland, Pittsburgh and Miami all have rich histories and traditions that any long-time fan appreciates. That's why I get a kick out of those that scream bandwagon if they feel a negative fan right now would hop back on board if we suddenly won a Super Bowl. Fact is, that person was probably on board well before they were and never left.

I agree with that. I think Spencer hasn't lived up to his draft billing and that Romo is a little over-rated, but Spencer is still serviceable and has a chance to be something and Romo is still our best QB since Troy.

I agree. I think there is constructive criticism that no player is beyond then there is simple ranting and raving done by some with the classic he sucks. I know much is expected from this franchise which leads to a lot of ranting and raving. As I said before I'm a fan not a critic as JJT once said he is a critic not a fan of the Cowboys he writes for the DMN that is his job. As a fan I understand flaws and weakness that must be overcome and as a fan I'm not going to bet against the team if others choose to that is their right to do so

It's hard for me to understand how anybody can be supportive of a fundamentally flawed GM/owner paradigm that has demonstrated it's inadequacies consistently over a 13-year period except for a notable interregnum during the Parcells years. This GM's x-Jimmy or Bill, piecemeal, self aggrandizing approach to football or "Broadway" as he lables it, is infantile and and has never worked in the modern NFL.

Yesmnen coaching staffs without true authority cobbled together by a non-football GM will never succeed as a unit. Now we have done a complete strategic 180 in about 4 months. Cutting malcontent starters /subs that we signed or resigned within just the past year or two, killing an inexcusable ammount of cap-space in the process. we have also gone cheap and deep into the cellar of FA and the draft to select journeymen that will play nice (I know some have some upside).

This strategic whipsawing along with the decade long record of this buffon in charge is hardly anything to support, and being critical of it doesn't make anybody a disloyal fan. The Cowboys existed before Jerry and they be around after he's gone, he aint the team by a longshot.

I love the constant dart games between optimists and pessimists. Always good for some laughs.
