.500 with an elite QB at the helm, no-less.
Now you know that's a lie. What's his record with a healthy Romo
8-8, 8-8, 8-8 and losing every last game of the regular season that could have put the team in the playoffs. Romo was healthy for all of those games.

What on earth does that have to do with my question? Did you reply to the wrong post?
It's kind of a dumb argument. If he just said Jason Garrett is a good coach and a unique fit for this organization, I'm 100% on board with that.
The Scandrick quotes, though, are more nice support from the players for the HC. I'll keep saying and saying it: there are lots of reasons why teams aren't as successful as they'd like to be in the NFL. Our problems have been mostly related to needing to bring in consistency and structure on the staff (not just the coaches, but from the scouts and coaches on down), discipline re: the cap, and the fact that we had an aging and declining roster in a lot of areas back in 2010. Garrett's made his share of mistakes, but he handles the crazy and the distraction better than most. His players definitely respect him. His bosses love him. His staff's got his back. We've seen enough HCs under Jerry at this point to know that these things aren't always easy to achieve amidst the chaos the owner invites.
If we can just continue to develop the young players we're drafting, we're on the right track.
What if 8-8 was actually a good record for the teams we were fielding at that time? For every 'Romo was healthy' argument, there's an offsetting 'one of the worst defenses in the league' argument. Sometimes getting a bad team to .500 is not evidence of a coaching problem. No matter how much second guessing of play calling fans want to do.

Hopefully we live long enough to witness it.
Franchise QB = 8-8 and no playoffs? What other HC's get that kind of rope?
It was reported at .590 w/a healthy Romo. JG's record is .500. We also lost every last game of the regular season under JG, with a health Romo, that would have put this team on the playoffs.
OK and I know all of that. But that has nothing to do with my post whatsoever.
I was responding to some one who Said Garrett had a .500 record with an elite qb at the helm, which he is not.

Okay, barely over .590 like in the second response?
And no he wasn't. Romo missed the 2013 last game to get into the playoffs.
actually that's not even right either.
You have to look at more than the QB position on any football team.
