Open Letter To Ryan Switzer

All I can say is he was done wrong. Its a mystifying move to say the least. BUT,that said, it is a brutal business.

Not at all, he's the same type of player, essentially, as Beasley, so why get rid of one player, who's had playing time with Dak for one that hasn't? And it's not like he was just summarily dismissed out of hand, he was traded to a team that has a young, strong-armed quarterback, and may be able to play him more than he would have at Dallas.

Hardly "done wrong"...

Sort of curious why the "open letter", I'm sure Switzer has a facebook page or a twitter account, could send the comment to him directly.

Or just post it as a comment.

Oh well, to each his own...

man crush on a 1 yr player with nearly zero playing time last year?.. My letter would say please learn to catch the Punts with your hands more and not let 80% bounce off your chest into your hands..it made me nervous every time.. BTW your fumble cost us the rams game..good riddens but also good luck..

wow..thats sure is a narrow view point. Dak aint young? lol...With our receiver corp in a state of flux the way it is,with all the change, you would think we would have open competition. Shipping him out without even seeing what he could do in camp was very puzzling. Unless they know something we don't..ie his work habits,or football IQ..or off the field stuff.

he wasn't shipped out, he was traded for a postion of need ie Dline Tackle that we didnt get to address in the FA or Draft.. they chose switzer because Oakland needed more ST players not more WRs they are loaded and he will get lost there as he did here until he gets a chance..

there wasn't anything against the kid, we have tavon Austin, Beasley , and Thompson already here and all are very similar slot type players that can also return punts and kicks..it was numbers game and Oakland wanted switzer and we let him walk.. its a business.. we can cut dez but not Switzer LMAO, seriously? losing dez and witten are much more serious to fill holes than switzer..

for a guy who has done essentially NOTHING in Ward. lol...Greeeeaaaat.

I am sorry you never had a real chance in Texas. I think you are a very talented player. I wish you all the best in Oak town! I as some others were looking forward to this new year here in Dallas as to what this staff was gonna unleash on the NFL in regards to you my friend. I thought for real you were the Cole Beasley replacement player. Having lived in WV and married into a WV family myself ( Brooke Bruins and you George Washington) I was and am still rooting for ya. I know you are gonna succeed and use this to your favor. On the other hand Tavon Austin is a Mountaineer from Baltimore,Md but still a Mountaineer. And he is now a Dallas Cowboy. I wish you both well. That completes my open letter. I am a born and raised Texan and a first team Dallas Cowboy fan.
Restraining order much!?!

Dez couldn't run routes,so lets end that crazy talk . Switzer was 10 times the route runner Dez was. Why draft a guy, then 1 year into it,trade him for ANOTHER player that's been around for like 2 years, and also done nothing? How does that jive? IMO..by cutting Dez,it creates open competition for Switzer..PLUS..Switz was a solid kick returner and weapon. Better hope Tavon pans out or we will look foolish.

Only thing I can figure is Switzer said something after Dez was cut that didn't set well with the brass. Got to be something off the field that was done or said for them to trade him out this fast.Something had to be the tipping point. This boils down to off the field stuff, not talent.

Thank you for your service. I thought he'd do more last year, but very hard to expect this staff to think outside of the box with a non cookie cutter type player. He's probably better off.

False. Dez wasn't a great route runner, but he was much better than a player who couldn't even get on the field.
he couldn't get on the field BECAUSE of Dez. He never even got a fair shot. Your assessment is not valid.

Now we wont ever find out.You watch,Jon Gruden will get this guy on the field and actually use him!

I ain't gonna miss him. He didn't make a difference and we have way better WRs now.

He was caught in the "backup quarterback syndrome", some always prefer the backup, no matter how good the starter plays...
