At first glance, Cowher seems like the guy for the job, but all he's done is underachieve. How many AFC Championship home games as the favorites did the Steelers lose before they finally made a championship run that included Carson Palmer getting hurt at the first snap in the Wild Card and the officials screwing Seattle out of a SB??

If anything, Jimmy should come back. Regardless of what anyone says, he clearly shows the passion he still has for this team and I think if the price was right and Jerry gave him the contral he gave Parcells, things could work.

That SB was fixed b/c Jerome Bettis was going to retire.

Either way, we do NOT have a Bettis on our team. An all-out team player who brings alot of passion, fire, and leadership on the field, on the sidelines, AND in the locker room. The year after he retired, he was SORELY missed...as they were terrible.

Isn't word that Cowher would come back if he's given FULL control?

"Just heard on Brad Shams and Larry Browns radio show that a source in Valley Ranch has said that Wade will be gone in 24-48 hours and that JJ has a private plane en route to meet with Cowher to be the new HC. God I hope this is true. I will gain so much respect for JJ is this is true....."

I'm with you bro, I don't believe it and I'm not sure it would be effective this year anyway, but this year may be down the ole toilet anyway.

Also, didn't he play for the Steelers? I can't imagine playing for a team I loved and then eventually coaching for my hated rival.

It would be similar to me being offered the job to coach the Eagles. The only way I would do it is so I could go in and destroy the organization for as many years to come as possible.

no he played for the browns and was an assistant under marty schottenhiemer in cleveland. That is where I thought he would end up if he ever were to return and he just may. They are going to clean house if the season ends up really poor and that includes the gm phil savage. I would imagine Cowher would have alot of power in a meeting with them to get the head coaching job and full control of the organization to bring in his own people.

Cowher like most upper level head coaches has always had very good assistants.

How stupid is it to annoint an heir apparent for HC when you don't even know if Garrett is a good coach?

We are the most dysfunctional organization in the league, with the possible exception of the Raiders.

Possible?
The fans anointed Garrett not Cowboys mgmt.

Cowher would not enter back into the Steeler's division, would he?

If he became the capo de tutti capo he would.

Tons of cash, tons of power and a fanbase that would trip overthemselves to bow at the alter of the cowher.

Much like ours would......

and did......

for instance, like myself with Parcells.
