Except his numbers last year would be better than anything Dalton has had for his career. Even Dak's worst years are better than some of Dalton's best. Yards, accuracy, TDs, etc etc, Dak has been significantly better at all of them and that is not factoring in Dak's added mobility. It is impossible to make an argument that Dak is not a top 7-13 QB without pretending every metric is somehow rigged in his favor.
Oh, gawd, here we go with the garbage-time statistics, which mean nothing.
So, why was Dak behind the Packers, 31-3?
Why did he fail to score a touchdown in three separate games last year?
Why did he get badly outplayed by Trubisky, Darnold, Allen?
Why did he fail so miserably in the most important game of the year in Philly?
Dak can't carry the team. Good defenses annihilate him with ease. They don't respect his game.
He's just a guy. Opposing coordinators scheme to put the ball in his hands, which is the easiest way to beat Dallas. He's the weak link on the offense.
Dalton did far more with much less. Made the playoffs his first five years, including 10 or more wins in four of them. And that's with one of the cheapest, worst franchises in all of sports.
Dalton could move this team with this talent just as well as Dak. I promise you.
So why spend $150 million on a bus driver?
